Assignment #2
a. What is Integrating ICT in education system means?
b. Explain the difference between teacher centered and learner centered classroom.

a. Over the years, ICT has played a lot of vital roles in improving our ways through
different innovations which are indeed, for the betterment of our lives. ICT has become an
important topic not just in any other fields, but mostly, in education. And it is because of it’s
capability of providing dynamic and proactive teaching and learning environment.
What we mean by integrating ICT in education systems is that teachers, especially now
that we are in the current digital era and still facing the pandemic, must consider having ICT
involved in our curriculum and be able to utilize or make use of ICT as an instrument to better
prepare the students as 21st century learners. ICT integration would be a lot of help for teachers to
construct and explore new ways of learning wherein students will be able to experience
interactive learning, get motivated, boost their skills, and widen their knowledge more.
In our current situation, the best way to keep up with globalization is to make students
well-oriented of what’s ahead of them. Finding ways on how to fit ICT in the learning and
teaching process could be of great help to ready not just the students, but also the teachers, to face
the future modern world. This will allow us to become competitive and creative at the same time.

b. Student-centered learning is seen as a forward-thinking approach to education. Student-

centered learning focuses on increasing students' knowledge of the content they are learning and
why it is relevant. Teachers want to encourage students to engage with one another in order to
make them more involved in the classroom. Instead of comparing each person to their peers, the
teacher evaluates achievement based on individual student success. Students who are trained
using student-centered learning methods are encouraged to set their own learning objectives.
Educators have traditionally used a teacher-centered approach in the classroom. This is a
rather regimented form of instruction. The course material is selected by teachers based on the
content they must cover by the end of the semester. The lecture follows a set format in which the
teacher speaks and the students listen to what she says. The classroom is very quiet because
students work on assignments individually rather than in groups. Classroom objectives are based
on the amount of material covered rather than the level of learning attained by each student. The
same learning objectives are assigned to all students. Student achievement is determined by a
contrast of individual results to that of the rest of the class. The focus is on the directions.
