A religious experience that I recall vividly was when I received a failing grade in one of
my major subjects in first year. I was so down that day, I felt like I failed college, my
parents, and myself. The next day, I went to church and prayed. I cried because I
wanted to pass every subject. It was then that I remembered a verse from Isaiah 41:10
saying that “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
From then on, I was determined to make up the failed grades for the rest of the year.

The experience that I had made me feel that I wasn’t alone in my challenges. That I
was guided and that I wasn’t a failure. It affected me in a positive way. It had left me
with a positive attitude and a brighter outlook on life. I realized that there is a God. A
God who will stay with me through thick and thin and through my darkest days.
