I write in view of the allege confusion on the number of listed cell towers as per
Senator Grace Poe’s interview on Newsbytes.ph on 2020-07-31. As she stated:
“Sinasabi ng Globe meron silang 9,535 cell sites, ang sabi ng NTC (National
Telecommunications Commission) ay 17,292 ang kanilang cell sites. Ang Smart,
24,600 ang stations, ang sabi ng NTC meron daw silang 23,000. Ang sinasabi
na total ng mga telco, meron silang 34,000 na mga cell site, pero ang sinasabi
naman ng NTC, 40,000 daw ang meron. At ang sinasabi naman ng DICT,
18,000 ang mga cell tower, so ano ba talaga ang totoo?” Poe, chairperson of the
Senate committee on public services, said in a television interview.

To regard the matter as a reliable fact and statistic, it is earnestly urged that we be
provided with the accurate number of cell towers in Region 2 specifically, list of cell
sites of 2G bands, 3G bands, and 4G bands together with its grid coordinates.

Your response to the data needed will bring about a vivid visual for the attainment of
clarification and congruence regarding the confusion about reports from
telecommunications companies and the records of our agency.
