Ceremony of the Holy Cross
by BrandonLw Posted: Mon Sep 09, 2013 7:56 pm

Recently over a Shabbat lunch discussion, there was mention of a practice which invoked from the
cross-quarters of the cross (SE, NW, SW, NE) in traditional sacred circle. It was said that this
practice was associated with the Light of the True Cross, and particularly had focus on light levels:
SE being the quadrant of greatest light, NW the quadrant of least, and the others as in-betweens. I
wonder if more might be shared of this practice here, so as to illuminate and share upon the brief
mention of it. Perhaps of the kavannah and intention in which one might take up the practice,
Divine Names associated with it, and other key pieces, all in Mother’s timing.

Praise to Our Lord God. May the messengers and the message shine with Light abundant.

Shalom

Ceremony of the Holy Cross: Extending the Light of the True Cross

We often take up prayers for the extension of the Light of the True Cross (Sacred Tau, or Shin-
Tau), and for the streaming out of the Light of the True Cross, celebrating the Gnostic Mystery of
the Crucifixion, not the cross of wood, but the Cross of Light within it, and the Holy Light above it,
and the truth of Christ revealed in the resurrection and ascension; hence, Mysteries of the Gospel
revealed by the Risen Christ on the Mount of Olives, and the Continuum of Light Transmission that
was made manifest.

The Ceremony of the Holy Cross celebrates this Gnostic Mystery, and is a theurgic action of
extending the Light of the Cross into all directions of endless space; it is a prayer for the
manifestation of the Light Transmission, or True Chrism, in the world, and likewise, an active
invocation of the Holy Light from above, or the rebirth of souls from above through the Christ-
Spirit.

This sacred ceremony is, in truth, very simple, and yet, the Gnostic Mystery it celebrates is subtle
and sublime; in its simplicity, it is a good spiritual practice for the novice initiate, and yet with an
experienced initiate it can become a deep contemplation of this Holy Mystery, one that brings
insights and illuminations, and therefore is good for adept initiates as well.

The Sacred Ceremony:

The initiate faces east as they begin the ceremony.

At the outset, the initiate abides in primordial meditation, abiding in the remembrance of the Holy
Light that is within them and their innate union with Christ and God, the True Light; and so they
remember the Light within the Holy Cross and above the Holy Cross, the Mystery of the Father in
the form of the Holy Dove, and revelation of the Pleroma of Light in the world, the Risen Messiah.
As the initiate abides in this holy remembrance, so they will draw to mind, and hold in their heart,
the remembrance of their experience of Light Transmission, and their own direct experience of the
Light-presence and Light-power of the Risen Messiah, and with this they will hold desire in their
heart that all living spirits and souls might receive their Anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit of

God. This is the holy remembrance and conscious intention through which they will begin this
divine action.

Then they will envision brilliant diamond-like light above their head, and they will envision the
Spiritual Sun within and behind their heart, and they will envision themselves arising spontaneously
in a jeweled body of glory, with rainbow glory streaming from that body of light, and they will
proclaim the Blessed Name of Adonai Yeshua Messiah, and then intone the Holy Name of Hayyah
Yeshua, and give praise and thanks for the revelation of the Messiah, the One Anointed with the
Supernal Light of God.

As the initiate does this, his or her arms are crossed over their chest, while gazing upward; and as
they give praise and thanks for the revelation of the Messiah they form the image of the Holy Cross
with their body, extending their arms outward.

Then, raising their arms upward, with their hands uplifted, they will intone the Name of El Elyon
once, and then begin to chant Allaha-Yah; as they do this they will envision influxes, or streams, of
the Holy Light from above pulsing down into them, and shining out from them, their jeweled body
becoming filled with the diamond brilliance, and so transformed into it.

When this invocation is complete, drawing their hands down with Holy Light in them, they will go
to the south-east and trace the Holy Cross, and then they will go to the north-west, and then the
south-west, and then the north-east, and in each cross-quarter they will do the same; and having
done this they will return to the center of the sacred circle, and they will proclaim: “O you living
spirits and souls, you spirits of the day and spirits of the night, look and see the Light of the True
Cross, listen and hear the Holy Gospel, and receive your Anointing; return to God, for the
kingdom of heaven has come near, and is in your midst!”

Then they will chant: Sha-Ta-Yah, and when they have, they will intone Hallelu Yah three times,
and then Vehayah and Amen.

This is the Ceremony of the Holy Cross.

A Celtic Cross is traced in this sacred ceremony, whether an Equal-Armed Cross or Calvary Cross;
hence, a holy cross with a circle around its center.

There are a number of different intonements that may be used when tracing the Holy Cross.

Abba-Imma may be intoned while tracing the vertical arm, Yeshua Messiah while tracing the
horizontal arm and Ruach Ha-Kodesh while tracing the circle; this celebrates the mystery of God,
the True Light, manifest as Father and Mother, Son and Daughter, Ruach Ha-Kodesh corresponding
with the Daughter, or Bride – hence, the Mystery of the Bridal Chamber.

The unification of the Divine Names of Eheieh and Yahweh, Ah-Ha-Yahweh (or Ah-Ha-Ya-Ha-Va-
Ha), can also be used, corresponding with the inmost mystery of Supernal Realization, Supernal
Being, or the full reintegration of souls with the Light Continuum.

Often, a permutation of the Blessed Name is intoned, Ya-Ha-Va-Ha-Sha; Yah-Ha is intoned while
tracing the vertical arm, Va-Ha is intoned while tracing the horizontal arm, and Sha is intoned
while tracing the circle. This permutation of the Blessed Name corresponds with Light Transmission
and the unification of all with the Shekinah of Messiah, or Malkut of Atzilut.

At times the Mystic Word of Initiation is intoned, IAO, which corresponds with the Mystery of the
Great Ascension and Great Transformation; the two movements of the Great Liberation within
world-systems.

This sacred ceremony can be performed on its own, but often it is joined with the revealed
invocation of the sacred circle or the traditional invocation of the sacred circle – this sacred
ceremony being the fruition of the invocation of sacred circle following one or the other invocation

of the directions.

In this, perhaps, you will understand that this is not a rigid, or fixed, ceremony or spiritual
practice, but rather is meant to be a creative theurgic action, or ceremonial prayer, for the
extension of the Holy Light of the True Cross. Thus, the instructions given for this sacred ceremony
are merely an example to begin with, understanding that this spiritual practice will grow and
evolve through the inspiration of the Christ-Spirit and the initiate’s own knowledge of this Gnostic
Mystery through their ongoing experience of Light Transmission.

As you might surmise, our first experience of actual Light Transmission is our spiritual
empowerment for this sacred ceremony, and its foundation is in devekut-cleaving to the Risen
Messiah, Tzaddik and Anointed Community in faith and love; for it depends entirely upon our
reception of the True Chrism, our Anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit of Yahweh Elohim,
Shaddai.

This is what I can share here about this sacred ceremony; if initiates within our lineage have any
questions about it, let them seek me out, or seek out another lineage-holder, and inquire.

May the Holy Light of the Great Seth ray out into all directions of endless space, and shine in
all in-betweens of the entirety, and may all living spirits and souls be uplifted in the Great
Resurrection and Ascension. Amen.

Peace be with you!

Thank you Brandon and Malachi for this delightful practice! Mysteries and practices of the sacred
circle are especially delightful to me, though I don't know why. I am grateful others share my
fascination and draw out these teachings, and that the tradition explores this idea so deeply!

Praise the Lord!

Shalom.
