Education has a strategic role in educating the young generation as the hope for the future
of the nation, however education in our country is very concerning when compared to other
countries that have experienced very rapid progress in the field of education. In education, a
planned program and learning process is needed in order to achieve the expected goals. A
process, implementation, and assessment is known as curriculum.

The curriculum has a very important role in the world of education because the
curriculum is one of the main components in education itself, even education will not possibly
run well or will not achieve its goals if it is not carried out in accordance with the curriculum.
The curriculum has components that are interrelated with one another, namely objectives,
materials, methods, and evaluation. The objective component relates to the direction or results
expected from the implementation of the curriculum. The content / subject matter component is a
component related to the learning experience that students must have. The method / strategy
component is a component that has a very important role, because it relates to curriculum
implementation. The evaluation component plays an important role and is an inseparable part of
the curriculum because through evaluation, the value and meaning of the curriculum can be
determined so that it can be taken into consideration whether a curriculum needs to be
maintained or not, and which parts should be improved.

From the description above, it can be concluded that the curriculum is a system that has
interrelated components to achieve a goal. Each component also has a role to play in creating a
better curriculum. The curriculum is made up of inseparable components. These components
consist of: the objective component, the material component, the method component, and the
evaluation component. Basically, all components are very functional, also aiming for optimal
education.
