Dear [Johnathan Fisher]:

I was excited to learn that I was able to pick what I wanted to make my project about for my how-to
project and its very personal to me and I feel like a lot of people can relate to my passion for E-sports
and video games and I wanted to make a how-to on how anyone can get their name out there in the E-
sport/video game community and there are so many paths you could take with it.

In my how-to, there will be four sub-sections to the main idea of how to get into Professional gaming or
E-sports or just being a content creator on media platforms, in the gaming community there are so
many ways to show your passion and interest to the rest of the community.

I’ve been playing video games ever since could remember and they bring so much joy to a young kid
and who doesn’t want to make a living off of something they love.

I would coach Esports if I was able to and to give kids an opportunity to turn a passion into a career
would just be amazing and productive since many current E-sport organizations expect the scene to
blow up in the next few years but the journey to getting recognized and signed on a professional E-sport
team isn't easy or clear but with my how-to, it should guide anyone in the right direction.

I'm excited and passionate about anything video game-related, and I know there is a lot of talent out
there that isn't even recognized and that my goal in my how-to thanks for your time.

Sincerely, Nathan Bair

o 1.0 Introduction
o 1.1 Purpose

The purpose of this How-to is to give people an understanding and a path to take into the
Esports competitive scene because there is no real guide out there on the things to become a
pro and what to know about Esports in general.

o 1.2 Background

The general information you might need to know to understand the information given would
be about the Esports league and that going professional in video games can become a career
just like any other professional sport.

o 1.3 Scope

The limit on this How-to would be how to set yourself up for success in the Esports league
and there wouldn’t be exact information on professional players but there are things to help
you as a player and what you would need to do to be successful and the reason why I focused
on these topics because they focus on the fundamentals that everyone needs to go
professional in Esports and be signed to an organization.

All about the importance of mechanical skill and movement

o 2.0 the importance of mechanical skill and movement

Mechanical skill and movement in Esports is especially important to your success in the
future and with enough practice, it will be second nature to move at a professional level.

o 2.1 Practice
Mechanical skill is the biggest section to practice when going for a career in Esports and you need to
have a daily practice routine just like an exercise or warm-up and you should be practicing at least 30
minutes a day.

o 2.2 improvement over time and stat tracking

You won't wake up the next day and be extremely mechanically skilled it's going to take time and
effort so make sure to track your progress to see if you're improving or you need to change something
up.

o 2.3 In-game awareness

If you watch the pros, you will see that they know where the enemy is almost all the time because
they have practiced using in-game awareness and to think while also being engaged in the game itself
it takes a lot of time to get to professional level, but you will see improvements if you're practicing.

All about teamwork and communication

o 3.0 Teamwork and communication

Teamwork and communication are one of the biggest skills to have when going into Esports
or in anything really because the information you give to the guy on your left or right is vital
to the game that is being played since information is more valuable than you are having a
major impact in the game by yourself.
o 3.1 Being a good teammate can go a long way.

Being a good person and teammate can take you a long way in Esports and in life because
you never know who you're playing within the game so you can be positive and give a good
impression to yourself because there could be a chance that you're playing with a current
Esports player or coach and no one wants a guy who is blaming everything on his teammates
and bringing negative energy to the team as a whole cause even if you're “godly” at the game
no one would want to have you on your team due to your behavior.

o 3.2 get to know your teammates on a personal level and

a tactical level.
Getting to know your teammates on a personal level is good to improve your relations and to
have a new friend because the whole point in competing and playing video games is to have
fun and when you know your teammates on a tactical level your skill as a team will improve
drastically and if you get far enough into an Esport organization then you may have to face off
against old teammates and if you know how they play then that is an advantage to you.

o 3.3 in-game callouts

In-game callouts are specific words that are used to describe where an enemy is or where a
certain player could be playing at for example if you were playing Valorant and on the map,
on haven, There’s a high vantage point for the defenders and for you to call that out clearly
and notify your team you can call that “heaven” and if your team does not know the callout
ask them what they call it or know it by because those keywords could be the difference in
winning and losing.

All about the importance of physical fitness and hydration

o 4.0 the importance of physical fitness and hydration

Physical fitness and hydration are important in esports just like in any other sport because it
keeps your brain function high and active and exercising is good for you in general and can
prevent injuries as sprained wrist and Parkinson's.

o 4.1 Hydration

Hydration while gaming is as important as being hydrated while playing in a football game
because when you are playing for long extended hours and constantly talking and focusing,
you're not drinking so make sure in between games you're drinking and staying hydrated
because it will improve your skills in-game.

o 4.2 physical fitness

Working out to improve gaming is important especially since big gaming organizations do it
and the reason they do it is so that their players are in the best shape to perform in-game to
try and win championships and no one wants to be lethargic while trying to perform at the
highest rank in games.

o 4.3 team morale

Team morale will be going up if you work out together and do things as a team you will feel a
bond like if you were playing in any other sport and this will build trust with yourself and
your teammates to do their best and not give up in a match that does not look so good
because anything can happen in Esports, and trust and teamwork are worth way more than
any superstar.

All about how to get recognized by E-sport organizations.

o 5.0 Getting recognized.

Getting recognized is just keeping to your fundamentals and making progress either slowly or
dramatically because if your skill keeps improving your name will be popping up at the top of
the leaderboards and the big professional players and coaches will recognize you and even
ask for you to try out for a spot on the team.

o 5.1 using social media to get your name out there.

Social media plays a crucial role in accelerating the process of being recognized in the
professional scene because more people know who you are based on your content on social
media and they might even spread your name enough for the E-sport leagues and teams to
contact you and get a tryout for their team and if you do not make it then you can pursue a
career in content creation.

o 5.2 know what leagues you can get into, and which one
would be good for you.

There are so many Esport leagues for so many diverse types of video games and a lot of them
are regional teams for example an EU team called G2 Esports will only recruit players from
the EU (European Union) and play in the EU region until they have a global tournament and
teams like FAZE are a NA team and only recruit from NA (North America)

o 5.3 Have every organization that is available to you

followed on social media or have a way that you can be
contacted by an organization.
Another way of using social media to your advantage is to have every available E-sport league
in your region followed on some type of social media platform and make sure you have a way
to be contacted because if you're recommended to a league and they have no way to contact
you they are just going to go on to look for a different player.
6.0 Conclusion
So, in conclusion to this How-to no matter how good you are or what equipment you have to
play video games you can definitely become a pro in Esports because if you put the time and
effort into your fundamentals and keeping track of your progress as a player yourself and
being satisfied with how your performing is a great start to your road of being in the big
leagues and when you become a great teammate and team player playing to win you'll be
rewarded with success in your professional path and when your friendly and working with
people trying to win like you are they will spread your name around to other people who are
also professional or are a professional coach.
Then they’ll let you scrimmage with them to see if you are good enough to bring onto the
team and that'll test your teamwork abilities and your in-game call-outs and awareness and
then when you're on a team or not a team then you have to take care of your physical and
mental health because sitting in a chair all day not eating and drinking isn't healthy at all and
when you're on such a high level of mental awareness and comprehension it can be draining
so make sure that your having fun as well when you play and that you're working out at a
gym or even at home just using bodyweight workouts are good enough to keep your body in
a healthy condition so that you can be playing at your best condition and at the end of the
day it's all about having fun and being around with people who have the same ideals as you
do.
Another tip I would give to get your name out there for professional Esports leagues would
be to stream on services like Twitch and YouTube cause then even more people would see
how you're doing in your game and they can spread the news on how you're so good and if
you're not doing so good on a professional level then you could even get sponsorships from
professional gaming organizations to promote their merchandise and organization I hope this
was helpful in any way.
