1920s Slang Story

Henry Gray was a factory owner. His company is the copacetic of all other factories in
the metropolitan area. Henry was good at what he did but had a temper and would yell horse
feathers at his employees when he got angry. He liked to go to the speak-easy on weekends and
some days after work and drink giggle water all night long. One Friday night after a rough day
dealing with drama at his factory, Henry got ossified. He looked around the crowdy bar and saw
a drugstore cowboy and a hoofer dancing together. Behind him, he found a gold digger giving
him a spiffy look, she just was not what he wanted. Just then, he saw a flapper walk in from the
store, this was who he wanted. She sat down a couple seats away and gave him a keen look.
Henry, being intrigued by this Sheba decided to walk over to her and introduced himself as a
cake-eater. Henry knew that she was a dumb Dora by her mannerisms. She wanted to know his
name and she shared hers with him. Veronica. She was perfect. He then proceeded to tell her
about his company and how they were the copacetic of everyone else around. She was so
intrigued with him being a successful factory owner.
Henry said seductively, “I’ve been very successful with my business but not so much
with love. I have been on numerous blind dates and none of them have seemed to work out. I just
can’t help but think that me meeting you is so swell.”
Veronica and Henry got another drink and started to walk out of the speak-easy together.
They were walking to Henry’s struggle buggy, which was parked down the road, next to an ally.
The sex appeal between the two got more and more intense. Veronica admitted being stuck on
Henry and they started petting. All the sudden, Veronica got out of the car and was so ossified
that she upchucked in the alley nearby. Henry knew this was his chance. He got out of his car
and walked to Veronica and stabbed her in the stomach 5 times and once in the heart. He then
scrammed down the back of the alley and up the fire escape to the window of his apartment to
meet his wife in bed.
The body of Veronica was found the next afternoon by a group of kids walking home from
school. Law enforcement examined the body later that night and found evidence that a drugstore
cowboy was near the body. They pinched the drugstore cowboy. He immediately knew he was
framed and by who. He knew it was his old kiddo, Henry. He desired revenge.
