    GEROLAGA

    FACTS: The accused-appellant, Roberto Gerolaga was charged for the alleged killing of one Antonio Sy.
    During his custodial investigation he also indicted Remedios Ruado, the sister-in-law of the deceased.
    According to him Ruado promised him the amount of P3,000.00 whenever he managed to kill who is the
    one that is threatening their family.

    During the trial, it was found out that Ruado was being harassed by an alleged NPA in the name of Helen
    Lepanto. According to her, Lepanto tried to extort money from her through a letter, thus he ask
    Gerolaga to capture the alleged NPA member. However, during the confrontation, Gerolaga killed
    Antonio Sy which later found out to be the author of the letter.
