What were the most significant comments
you made on a peer’s paper? Summarize in 2-3
sentences.
The most significant comments I made
included suggestion on how to better their
scholarly articles and how to go forward with
their research. Specifically, I made comments
on how to improve their CARS model
introduction as they were missing key points. I
also made lots of suggestion on how to format
the article correctly as there wasn’t much
content to give more useful advice.
What were the least helpful comments you
received? Why do you feel they weren’t
helpful and what could your peer do to
improve their feedback?
What were the most helpful comments you
received from your peers? List 3 and explain
why.
I received many helpful comments. I especially
found that the comments which made me
reconsider the way I was approaching the
scholarly article were the most useful. For
instance, the comment “You establish your
niche here, however, it is a little vague as to the
"need for further research" aspect. Is there
reason to believe healthcare providers are not
already providing the best patient care? How
will your research benefit the field?” This
comment made me realize that I could be more
descriptive in explaining the importance of my
research and further elaborate on how it might
contribute something that other research
hasn’t already.
Additionally, the comment “Another good place
where you establish your niche, however,
maybe go in-depth as to why the way you're
researching this topic is new, like why
analyzing the medical community through the
lens of discourse communities is new and
beneficial,” this feedback is also helpful as it
once again indicates that I need to be more
elaborate. Moreover, the comment “Nice job
establishing your territory here and making
generalizations about the papers” is very
helpful as it reassures I have done this
properly.
What changes would you make to your own
feedback (“feedforward”) if given another
chance?

One of my peers gave of me a lot of feedback
with technical suggestions. I would rather
receive suggestions on how to better my
content. I think my peer could improve by
focusing on the content rather than on the
formatting and wording of the writing, this
will also help them improve on their own
writing.
If given another chance, I would want to give
more advice as well as suggestions on how to
better their writing and even provide advise on
how to better integrate their secondary sources
into their Lit review. I also would have liked to
give advice on how to approach their textual
analyses on their primary sources as it looked
like they were struggling to do so. While I do
think I did my best in pointing out certain
mistakes, I think I could do better on
suggesting ideas.
