1. Biography is a detailed description of a
person's life. It involves more than just the
basic facts like education, work,
relationships, and death; it portrays a
person's experience of these life events. and
may include an analysis of the subject's
personality.
2. Characteritic of Biography
- Biography has a standard structure in its
manufacture, including orientation,
reorientation, and events.
- The contents of the biography are made
based on facts (factual) according to the
life story of the characters told.
- The style of biography writing is made in
the form of narration so that it is more
interesting to read.
- There are interesting and inspiring stories
in the lives of biographers so that they
can influence the reader.
- Biography also contains things that can
motivate someone to imitate the life of
the character in the biography.
3. Grammar and language features
- Use of simple past tense
- Temporal sequence and temporal
conjunction are used as s a link between
one sentence with another sentence in
chronological order.
- Focus on Specific participant
- Use of Action verbs. Group of words that
describe something that is actively done
by a character.
4. Generic Structure of Biography
- Orientation, the part in biographical
 writing that contains the introduction of
characters or the initial description of the
character being told.
- Events and Problems, parts in biographical
writings that contain events that have
been experienced by characters. This
includes the problems faced in trying to
achieve goals, as well as the inspiring
experiences experienced by the
characters.
- Reorientation,  the closing part of a
biography and its optional nature. In this
section the author gives his views on the
characters that told in the biography.
5. Definition of historical Recount are
- Historical recount is concerned with a
history of a place or an object.
- Historical recount is closely related to the
history of a place or an object which is
very memorable and considered
important throughout life. This type of the
text is a kind of recount which explains
about the chronological events occurred
in the past.
6. The fuction of Historical Recount
- To describe past historical experiences by
retelling chronological events by involving
the important dates, characters as well as
the place of the events
- To perform all-interpretive aspects in the
historical recount to be able to compile
historical synthesis based on the
existence of careful research through the
selection of historical fact.
7. Characteristics of Historical Recount
Before you have more activities on historical
recount, you should be able to recognize the
characteristics of the historical recount,
namely;
- Retelling the past historical events
- Upholding the history of a place or an
 object
- Written scientifically or imaginatively
- Purposing to informing or entertaining
(can be both)
You could write a historical recount about:
- A well-known battle
- The development of an invention
- An event which changed society
8. A fable is a story featuring animals, plants or
forces of nature which are
aanthropomorphized (given human qualities).
A fable always ends with a moral value which
was intended as the lesson.
9. Function of Fables
- To entertain or to amuse the readers
about the interesting story
- to convey moral messages or lessons to
the readers, especially for children to
behave morally in the world to
understand the values of the culture in
which they are written.
10. Characteristics of Fables
- They are fiction in the sense that they did
not really happen
- They are meant to entertain
- They are poetic, with double or allegorical
significance
- They are moral tales, usually with animal
characters
- Fables are short, and they usually have no
more than two or three characters
11. A legend is a story about human events
or actions that has not been proved nor
documented in real history.
12. Function of Legend
- to present the story of human actions in
such a way that they are perceived by the
the listeners or readers to be true (in
literature).
- To entertain or to amuse the readers
 about the interesting story (in general)
