Generating FREE Leads

So this topic is a super exciting one because everyone loves FREE— especially when it comes
to leads for your brand. This training is going to be all about how you can create content and
value offers to generate a continuous stream of free leads for your brand. Lastly, understand
that leads aren’t just people that give you an email address or contact info...these can be people
who claim an offer or take advantage of a promotion too.

To effectively execute this method of lead generation you need to consider a few things first…

1. Do you have a blog, vlog, podcast, LIVE stream, or social platform that generates
traffic?
a. If you don’t then this method is pretty much useless, BUT the good thing is it isn’t
complicated to start some sort of traffic generation resource for a brand. There
are MASSIVE benefits to starting a content stream and I strongly recommend
this approach for EVERY business.
2. What is your reach?
a. Local, regional, national, or international?
i. Obviously, the larger the reach and the larger your potential audience, the
better your lead generation results will be.
3. What value offers (information, templates, guides, how to’s, promotions, etc.) can
you use to generate a continual stream of leads? Does the business have
something you can use currently or do you need to make something for them?
a. Obviously, the best kind of value offers to use are templates, guides, info, etc.
that you can create without having to give discounts or product away for free to
entice customers so try and consider that first.
b. The type of business and your clients will determine what method will be best.
c. Promotions or one-time offers can also be a value offer to drive leads and
increase sales.
i. These types of offers are really only effective when the customer has the
potential to make repeat purchases

Now that we know our client can handle a content marketing approach we need to build a plan
to generate leads. I’m going to teach my favorite method in this training…

Step 1. Get them interested in your business with some form of content. (Video, Blog,
Podcast, Post, etc.)

For example, potential customers looking for a real estate agent are usually interested in seeing
a quick estimate of their home’s value. A lot of businesses just try to advertise a tool and drive
leads from spending on ads. Instead, you could create a video teaching people how to find the
true value of their home themselves with a template you put together yourself on excel.

Another example we can look at is my brand. We know that people are interested in learning
marketing principles and concepts, but we also know that a lot of you either want to start a
personal brand, eCommerce store, marketing agency, etc. What we’ve done is try to create
content that reaches all of these different types of audiences. For example, we have a starting a
personal brand funnel that we use to gather interested leads. Actually, you’re probably in the
process of going through this funnel right now. We know that if we continually provide valuable
info such as this that you’ll have no choice but to come to me when a purchasing decision
needs to be made.

Step 2. Follow up via email marketing, social media ads remarketing, messenger bot
remarketing, etc. with more content that they might find interesting or useful.

Now that you’ve captured information or gathered interested parties from Step 1 above, the next
goal is to begin sending them MORE content— specifically around the topic they were originally
interested. This is most effective because you already know they have an interest and you’re
more likely to keep communication open with them.

You should monitor how they engage with content during this stage and try to incorporate other
related pieces of content. If they express interest in another topic based on actions taken during
the campaign you should have MORE follow up content to send that will keep them on the line.

Step 3. Monitor their actions and send more content that they would find interesting.

This is one of the most important steps that a lot of businesses just don’t incorporate. One
content series sent to a customer over a couple of weeks will NEVER be enough to create a
lasting impression on a person’s life. You must REPEATEDLY be involved in what they are
doing and stay in their ear with the newest and hottest trends in your industry to get them to
convert over and over again.

What I like to do is look at the actions that people are taking and send them more content based
on those actions. For example, with my marketing agency owners’ audience I start by sending
them content on the Digital Marketing Audit when they are interested in landing clients. Once I
know this I follow up with more content about selling and landing clients, but I also sprinkle in
some more general information about social media, starting a business, scaling a business,
creating a brand, etc. If they click or engage with any of that content we send them through
another content automation based around those topics. With this approach you’re ALWAYS
sending them content that they’re interested in!
