● Gifts are willingly given with NO _________ attached. When it is given, it cannot
be removed, taken away, or destroyed. It is yours forever.
● Gifts are often associated with material, physical things, and these such things
are fun and nice, God gifted people throughout the Bible with “things” (i.e.
Abraham had many nice “things”) that were to be used to glorify God, but in the
Kingdom, there are also _________ gifts.
● Spiritual gifts are

● There are also personal gifts given to each person that sets them apart physically
or mentally (i.e. the gift of painting, the gift of athleticism, the gift of math). These
are also from God and should be used to advance the Kingdom and glorify Him.
● Here we are focusing on the gifts of the Spirit; those intangible yet powerful gifts
that come from the Holy Spirit and are accessed through the Spirit.

B. Breakdown of Corinthians List of Gifts:

1. ______________in Paul’s letter is sohpia, which is Greek for “skill, wisdom.” Sophia is
derived from saphes which means “clear.” We see its root in the english word
sophistication and philosophy.
_____________is being able to use your skills to make sound, or clear,
decisions. Also can be interpreted as “common sense”.
James 1:5 tells us to ask for wisdom and He will generously give it to you. Look
up this scripture and write it here:

Proverbs 2:6 tells us that God gives wisdom and Proverbs 4:7 tells us that wisdom is the
principal thing (Look up these scriptures and write them here:

Christ is _________________given to us (“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who

became for us wisdom from God--and righteousness and sanctification and
redemption--that, as it is written, ‘He who glorifies, let him glorify the Lord’” 1 Corinthians
1:30).
2. ______________in Paul’s letter is gnósis, or “a knowing.” Webster’s definition of
knowledge is “facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or
education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.”
__________________ tells us that knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. He educates us.
In the charismatic sense, the spiritual gift of knowledge is obtaining specific information
from God about a person, a place, or a situation.

Note that wisdom and knowledge, though used interchangeably sometimes, are different.
Knowledge can exist without __________________, but not the other way around.

3. Faith is ___________ here, which means “faith, belief, trust, faithfulness, confidence.”
This gift is supernatural in that your belief of the possible exponentially surpasses the
impossible. We know that faith is given to each person (Romans 12:3), which is required
to even begin our journey towards the Holy One. Write Hebrews 11:6 here:
______________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________

Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that we all receive saving faith, or salvation through faith, but
the “gift of faith” Paul mentions in Corinthians is supernatural. It is given from the God of
faith in great measure. To have this gift means that one believes _______________ is
impossible with God, and so the manifestation of this gift usually produces great exploits
of power.

4. ___________ is iama, or “healings, remedy.” The gift of healing is a supernatural,

Spiritual gift given by God for the healing of various illnesses. Jesus is a healer. Jehovah
___________ means “God our healer.” To those that receive this gift, they will operate in
supernatural healings. When they lay hands on the sick, they will be healed. When they
intercede in prayer, others are healed. When they praise or worship, others are healed.
They carry the gift of healing in their entire being, so whether it is in thought, speech,
touch, etc. God uses them to heal others through the power of the Holy Spirit. They heal
the body of the church, which _____________ God’s bride.

5. _______________________. Paul uses the Greek word ________________which

translates to “dynamite power, might, and strength.” It is power through God’s ability.
This is a spiritual gift that manifests in the physical through supernatural strength.

6. _______________ in Greek is prophéteia, or communicating God’s truth. Prophecy is to

“speak forth” or declare God’s purposes. It is ________ predicting the future, though
God can and does reveal the future to His prophets (Amos). Prophecy is meant to
influence people and point them back to God, it is meant to find the treasure in the field
in a person’s life. It is __________________ or proclaiming, more than it is “fore-telling”
or predicting.
To have this gift, one forth-tells God’s already given revelation. Holy Spirit reveals
it to a person and they speak it. We have to be cautious of false prophets, those that
manipulate through smooth words. You’ll know them by their ________, Jesus said.
Prophecy always uplifts, builds up, and encourages, even if the message is tough, it
produces good, righteous ______________in the end. This is a gift given to anyone God
chooses. Remember, that no one gift is better than the other, but all are used to
_____________, ______________________, _________________God’s church (1
Corinthians 14:3).

7. ___________ diakrisis is the Greek word Paul uses here. It is distinguishing, passing
judgement on, discerning. It is a spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit, who is truth. It helps
one ___________________________________. It allows one to properly judge
something with the help of Holy Spirit’s counsel. It is especially useful in deliverance
ministry or apostleship when many different spirits are interfering and speaking and
sound judgement, or even the flesh is speaking. It is used to differentiate between God’s
voice and the voice of the enemy. With this gift, one is able to tell what is good and evil
(Hebrews 5:14). Write 1 John 4:1 here:
______________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________.
This supernatural gift of discernment is more than a “gut instinct” it is a true separating
ability to push aside the lie and reveal the truth.

8. _______________in Greek is glossa. It is speaking in a heavenly language that others

cannot understand. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit and is evidence of His working in a
believer. When speaking in tongues, one is speaking as the Spirit would have him or her
speak, making utterances unto God. It is the perfect prayer and it is divine. It will always
lift up the church and bring peace, even if it is a deep travail, it will be rooted in love and
harmony.

9. ____________________, or hermenia, is the explanation or interpretation of tongues. It

is the ability to know what someone is saying through tongues. This gift is unique in that
one may be able to interpret what God is saying through a person’s heavenly language
or they may be able to understand another earthly language (i.e. hearing Spanish and
knowing what they are saying).

Corinthians 14:1 that we should eagerly desire all the gifts of the Spirit, especially
prophecy.

“Teach” is defined as “to show or explain to someone how to do something.” Remember,
that you ________________ as a teacher, therefore you lead by example.

4. ________________: Paul uses the Greek word “paraklésis” which is “a calling to one's

go-getters and strive to see the church work at her utmost potential.

5. _________________: We should all be givers, but those gifted with the spiritual gift of
giving, go beyond the 10% tithe, not just in money or materials, but in time as well.
Those with this gift know that giving is an outward expression of the ______________ of
the gift of grace they have received. They give in a Christ-like measure, without limits or
worry. Paul instructs those that receive this gift to do so with__________. The word for
“generosity” here is actually “aplothj” (hap-lot'-ace) and it means
______________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________.

6. ____________: Those with the gift of leadership are people who are graced to direct
and steward God’s people. The King James Version says “_________.” Those that have
been placed over organizations, to oversee and make decisions, do so with a clarity, a

a faith-fueled excellence and know how to adapt to new situations. They _______ and
then execute decisions with Kingdom purpose. Paul says that those who are gifted with
leadership use it with “___________” which translates in the Greek to spoudé, or
earnestness, haste, eagerness, enthusiasm. Leaders don’t hang their heads, they lift
them high, regardless of the situation or opposition.

7. ____________: This is such a special gift because God is the God of mercy. Those that
receive the spiritual gift of mercy receive it straight from the Father’s throne. They are
able to supernaturally extend ________________ to others that many cannot. Jesus
states in Matthew 5:7:
___________________________________________________________________.
These people can tell when others are suffering or hurting, and they extend God’s mercy
to them, encouraging them, giving them _________. They love the unlovable at a great
degree and seek to spread the love of Christ to all, gentile and jew, slave and nonslave.
Extending mercy can be challenging, but those with the gift, are to do so with ________,
excited about the new work that God is going to do in the person’s life. They celebrate
for the one.
