Playing sports plays a crucial role to every individual, which helps us to be fit and
fine in physical strength. It's a fun way to stay entertained while still getting some
exercise. Sports and games aid in the development of character. They provide us with
vitality and determination.
Today, there is a sport that many Filipino youth enjoy, which is Taekwondo. It is a
martial arts sport that originated in Korea. And it really needs a strength, grace, balance,
coordination, speed, reaction, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular conditioning.
Aside from that, you'll need a persistent mindset, one that won't give up any time you're
in a play. Some may argue that participating in sports like Taekwondo is simply a source
of joy and most people consider them to be nothing more than a brutal sport and a form
of fighting. People think it's violent because of all the kicks, hits, throws, and arm and
wrist locks; they aren't generally open-minded enough to see how it helps people,
especially youths. It influences personal life through self-awareness and capabilities in
self-defense and discipline. Also, we can gain self-confidence through playing
Taekwondo for we learn to trust in our abilities and ourselves. Once the player's
confidence begins to rise their attitude, in general, rather it is at work, school, or at home
usually improves.
We all know that Taekwondo is very demanding in physical aspects. With that, we
learned self-defense and in that aspect we can protect ourselves and also others. Also,
Taekwondo is another option where both the young and old can try and get a healthy
exercise that can give a huge benefit to their health. And since players must value their
coach, fellow athlete, and themselves in Taekwondo, they can learn both mental and
physical discipline. This will also assist you in remaining grounded and resisting stress
and social pressure.
Above all, through Taekwondo, we build confidence, self-respect and respect to
others, and most especially to be empowered individual.
