Locus of Control (Internal locus)


The degree to which people believe that they as opposed to external forces (beyond
their influence), have control over the outcome of events in their lives.
-Individuals with a strong internal locus of control believe events in their life are
primarily a result of their own actions.
-People with a strong external locus of control tend to praise or blame external
factors.
Internal mean local control.
Machiavellianism
Degree to which an individual is pragmatic, maintains emotional distance, and believes
that ends can justify means. (morality)
-Self-Esteem (means love)
Individuals’ degree of liking or disliking or themselves
-High self-esteem has a high correlation to self-reported happiness.
-The relationship between self-esteem and life satisfaction is stronger in
individualistic cultures.

-Low self-monitors ten to display their true dispositions and attitudes in every
situation
Risk-Taking Propensity (like Entrepreneurship)
The propensity to assume or avoid risk
-High risk-taking managers made more rapid decisions and used less
information in making their choices.
-Managers in organization are generally risk-aversive, but there are still
individual differences on this dimension.
