Control room shall be designed with consideration of safety of electrical


1 equipment and Operational ease and free movement.

Where Floor slabs are installed installation of water proof membrane on a


layer of sand or compacted bed would be required. Water proof sealant
2 must be provided to seal the gap between the membrane and pipe or
conduit.

Serviceable filters must be installed on all ventilation inlets to control the


3 ingress of dust into the Switchgear room.

All externals entry doors must be filled with adequate door seals to prevent
4 ingress of duct and air
borne particles.

The roofing system must be designed so as to minimize maintenance over


5 the design life of the substation.

No penetrations are allowed from the roofing. The provision of China mosaic
flooring over the roof with water proofing can be adopted to reduce the
6 building temperature. The system remain intact and waterproof under the
local climatic conditions.

Guttering, downpipes and fitting must be installed around the roof slab and
7 extended to the storm water drain.

All external doors and windows must be protected from weather by either
8 rain guards at the top.

9 The doors to the entrance shall be secured with unauthorized access control

Behind panel equipment should be appropriately coded to reduce the


10 potential for human error.

Adequate access should be provided so that inadvertent operation of


11 equipment during maintenance is not possible.

Providing 200mm thick first class burnt brick Masonry wall in Flemish-bond
formation with cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement:4 course sand) or suitable
chemicals (in case of AAC blocks) in proper line, level & plum including
18 racking out the joints on exposed surfaces to receive plaster & curing etc.
complete. The brick work shall be provided with runners at regular intervals
in 1 m vertical height with 2 nos. of 8mm dia. T.M.T. bars at Junctions,

approved screened and graded river sand in all positions including base coat

coat of 8 mm thick in c.m. 1:3 using waterproofing compount @ 2kg per
cement bag finishing the surface by taking out grains & curing for minimum
10 days

Exterior Paint shall be Two coat of waterproof acrylic emulsion apex ultima

22 Interior Paint shall be Two coat of acrylic/luxury emulsion paint
Battery room paint shall be provided ceiling and wall for full hieght painted
23 with acid resistant paint
All sanitary, toilet, plumbing, door, windowsand their fixture & office
24 furniture shall be reputed brand & IS codel provision
