Test of DMS and evaluation of mean value and standard deviation (without X-rays)
· Select Local Service -> Test Tools -> Stat-Modes.
· Select -> static13 as predefined mode and click Show (to activate the static13 parameters).
· Select mode parameter: Tubepos. -> 270 deg for Volume Zoom/Sensation 4, select Slice 4*5mm for Access, select
2*10mm for the others values, use default settings
· Click Go.
· Press Start button (starts a scan without radiation).
· Click Cancel after the scan is finished to exit the Static Mode mask.
· Click Home.
· Select Analyze from the Home platform.

· Select Load -> ICS Filesystem -> Raw Data (default setting).
· Click Go to open the common load frame.
· Select the last raw data set measured: rotstatic.raw.
· Click Go (the region platform opens).
· Select Macro -> Run in the Analyze platform.
Depending on the software installed (VA20 or VA40), different macros are available. For this reason,
differences exist in the following test sequences. The VA40 test sequence is described first and afterward
the VA20 test sequence.
· Select Make_meanStd.mcr or Make_meanStd_xslice.mcr (see (Tab. 9 3.Different macros for Volume Access and
Volume Zoom / Sensation 4.) ) and click Go.
· Select Macro -> Run (displays a list of macros).
· Select Plot_mean1tox.mcr (see (Tab. 9 3.Different macros for Volume Access and Volume Zoom / Sensation 4.) ) and
click Go.
· Click Plot .
The mean values displayed must be: min -> 300, max. -> 2250
· select Macro -> Run (displays a list of macros)
· Select Plot_sigma1tox.mcr (see table above) and click Go.
· Click Plot . The mean values displayed must be: min -> 0.01 , max. -> 3.55
· Select Make_meanStd.mcr or Make_meanStd_xslice.mcr (see (Tab. 9 3.Different macros for Volume Access and
Volume Zoom / Sensation 4.) ) and click Go .
· Select Macro -> Run (displays a list of macros).
· Select Plot_mean1.mcr and click Go .
· Click Plot . The mean values displayed must be: min -> 300, max. -> 2250

IMPORTANT: Some macros are different for Volume Access and Volume Zoom / Sensation 4.

· Select Make_meanStd.mcr or Make_meanStd_xslice.mcr (see (Tab. 13 7.Different macros for Volume Access and
Volume Zoom / Sensation 4) ) and click Go .
· select Macro -> Run (displays a list of macros).
· Select Plot_mean2.mcr and click Go .
· Click List , select dec and click Go .
Check if Row1/Column 2 (first value of table) mean value is min: 4000 max: 8000.
· Disconnect the monitor cable (small white cable at reference monitor located on the tube side).
· Repeat the above measurement. The mean value should be equal to the offset value (approx. 1000 ).
If the results of both measurements are equal, the GI card is defective. If the first measurement is out of
tolerance and the second measurement is approx. 1000, the reference monitor, cable or 15 V power supply
is defective.
