Dear P/B Buscargas:

Greetings of peace amidst the Corona Virus pandemic.

It has been a struggling period to all of us since the strike of this Corona Virus
pandemic. All sectors of the community have been affected particularly in changing their regular
way of undertaking business, jobs, and their way of life as a whole. In the sector of the academe,
we are adopting different methodologies to ensure that the educational services to our learners
are continuously delivered to them. However, there are some issues that this educational
institution would like to impart to your office, particularly the allege proliferation of fraternities
in our community. It was brought to our knowledge that there are students of our school that are
being recruited to join such group. To this educational set up, where the students are in the
distance learning, it will be very easy for the recruiters to encourage our students in joining said
organization. The Department of Education through its Department Order No. 20, s. 1991
entitled “ PROHIBITION OF FRATERNITIES AND SORORITIES IN ELEMENTARY AND
SECONDARY SCHOOLS AMENDED BY DO 49, S. 1995 – DIRECTING INFORMATION
CAMPAIGN ON HAZING LAW”, explicitly mandated all schools to take necessary actions and
precautions in the proliferation of fraternities in elementary and secondary schools.

In this instance, we would like to request the assistance of your office in taking
actions in order to protect our young students to be victims of recruitment in fraternities and
sororities in our community. Rest assured that our office will always be working with you hand
and hand to ensure the success of this endeavor.
