Dawid Sadkowski
Date 15/04/2021

Location – Glasgow City, Irvine

Risk assessment – In Glasgow (daytime) – avoiding traffic

In Irvine (nighttime) – wearing high visibility
attachments to backpack

Inspiration My inspiration was Pierre T. Lampbert and Danillo

Cattani

Research For daytime shoots I’m looking for a sunny day to get some
nice long shadows. That’s mean I’ll need to go around 2 hours,
before noon. For night shot I need rainy day to get some reflection in
puddles and wet roads.

Must have shots – Architecture, graffiti or murals,

Techniques to try – As I will shoot in sunny day, I’ll need a ND filters

to control my DoF. At nighttime I’ll try long exposure. I want to keep
rule of third and central composition.
Equipment needed – ND filters, Polarizing filters, tripod. 16-50mm
lens, 35mm lens and 55-200 lens

SHOOT REVIEW LOG

YOUR NAME

Date & time of visit –

Glasgow 23/04/2021
Around 10AM
To harsh sun already. Bright sun dominate shadow I wanted.
Irvine 3/05/2021
Around 11PM
Raining
Location – I think location I visited was fine. I was moving trying to
find better point of view.

Weather conditions – In Glasgow I think better would be if I go there

in evening 2-3 hours before sunset so I would be able to shot some in
golden and blue hour. Night shots in rain was a good idea although
it was windy.

Equipment used – In Glasgow I have used ND2 filter. In night I didn’t

use tripod because wind was too strong and I haven’t got anything
to hang an tripod to increase stability.
Camera techniques used – I was using composition techniques like
rule of third, viewpoint. I set my camera in proper WB to have
correct exposure. At night I was using High ISO to avoid camera
shake.

Things that worked – I think choose good lens for this and locations.

Any challenges? – my biggest challenge was sun and how strong it

was that day. I was struggling to balance between not overexposed
highlights and keeping details in shadows.

Ideas for future shoots – if I had to redo shots I would use tripod
even in a sunny day so I could do bracketing and I would take
stronger ND filters.
