Directions: You will be watching a video produced by MTV on True Life: I’m Deaf. The
video portrays two young people who were born deaf, and how they must overcome huge
obstacles to get the most out of their lives. They’re trying to make their way in the world but
will their deafness hold them back?

1. Before we begin the video, I want you to reflect for a moment. List two of your own
obstacles that you struggle in your life. Perhaps these experiences are related to school
work, friends, socializing, and relationships. (don’t get too personal) the point is to
recognize these but to do something to get through, to make better and resolve.
