INTRODUCTION
Technical Services is pleased to announce the Kyocera TASKalfa 3051ci/3551ci/4551ci/5551ci Color MFP’s. All Models in the
Series come standard with Duplex capabilities, Scan System, 3.5GB Standard Shared System Memory and are Energy Star
Compliant. These new additions to our product line offer a new 8.5” Touch screen, built-in Card Reader, Optional IB-51 Wireless
Network Card and HyPAS Application Support.
AirPrint is supported on Kyocera’s New Network Connected B&W MFP’s. AirPrint enables instant printing from iPad, iPhone, iPod
touch and Mac, without the need to install drivers or download software. Supported Devices are: iPad (all models), iPhone (3GS or
later), iPod touch (3rd generation or later), Mac OSX Lion, OSX Mountain Lion.

COLOR MULTIFUNCTIONAL PRODUCTS
KYOCERA Document Solutions America, Inc. (“KYOCERA”) warrants its new color Multifunctional Products (referred
to herein as “MFP”) to Authorized Dealers as follows:
Mainframes and Accessories. The MFP’s mainframe and accessories are warranted against defects in workmanship
and material under normal use and service for a period of 39 months from KYOCERA’s invoice date to Dealer, or the
specified number of copies/prints as listed below, whichever occurs first (referred to herein as “MFP Warranty Period”).
KYOCERA’s obligation hereunder is expressly limited to providing Dealer with the parts required to repair the MFP or
crediting Dealer's account for the cost of said parts, at KYOCERA's election.
Maintenance Kits. Maintenance Kits consist of the developing unit, the drum unit, the transfer belt, and the fixing unit.
Components of Maintenance Kits included with the original MFP are warranted against defects in material and
workmanship for a period of 36 months from date of installation with first end-user, or 39 months from KYOCERA’s
invoice date to Dealer (referred to herein as Original Maintenance Kit Warranty Period), or the specified number of
copies/prints listed below (referred to herein as Original Maintenance Kit Copy Allowance), whichever occurs first.
Replacement Maintenance Kits purchased and installed after the Original Maintenance Kit Copy Allowance has
expired, shall have a limited warranty for the specified number of copies/prints listed below, or until the Original
Maintenance Kit Warranty Period expires, whichever occurs first. Replacement Maintenance Kits purchased and
installed after the Original Maintenance Kit Warranty Period has expired shall have a limited warranty of 90 days. To be
covered by this 90 day warranty, the Replacement Kit must be installed and registered prior to the MFP exceeding 10%
of the Original Maintenance Kit Copy Allowance.
These warranties do not cover MFPs or components of Maintenance Kits which: (a) have become damaged due to
operator negligence, misuse, accidents, improper storage or unusual physical or electrical stress, (b) have used parts
or supplies which are not genuine KYOCERA brand parts or supplies, (c) have been installed or serviced by a
technician not employed by KYOCERA or an Authorized KYOCERA Dealer, (d) have had the serial number modified,
altered, or removed, or (e) Dealer fails to register the installation information for the MFP with KYOCERA utilizing
KDAconnect.
THESE WARRANTIES SHALL BE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. KYOCERA SHALL NOT BE
LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHICH MAY ARISE OUT OF THE USE OF, OR
INABILITY TO USE, THE MFP.

WARRANTY RETURNS
To process your Warranty Claim and verify other key information, the Maintenance Report (Nine Pages),
Event Log (One Page), Status Page (One Page), Service Status Page (Two Pages), and Network
Status Page (Three Pages) must be included with the returned item along with the MIP-PG Pattern.
If all of the above listed items are not included with a Warranty Claim, credit may be denied.
In past products, these Reports were accessed from different locations. All necessary Reports can now
be output in Maintenance Mode with a few easy steps.

Two Versions of Firmware Packs are available for download from KDAconnect. The normal
3051ci/3551ci/4551ci/5551ci Combined Firmware Pack and a 3051ci/3551ci/4551ci/5551ci
Combined Firmware “Turbo” Pack. The “Turbo” Pack will contain a special Skip file
“ES_SKIP.ON.V001” which will speed up the upgrade process by only upgrading versions that
have changed. The Normal Pack will overwrite all firmware.
Note: At Setup, Technical Services recommends checking KDAconnect and downloading the
current Upgrade Pack Firmware and to periodically check for new updates to install.

Defective PCB’s being returned within the 3-Year warranty period must be returned to the National
Return Center utilizing the Parts Warranty Registration & Return System on KDAconnect. Print out
the Return Authorization form obtained through the system and return it with the Circuit Board for Credit.
Any associated mounting brackets, hardware, system software and original packaging must be included
with the claim. Credit will then be issued to your account.
For defective PCB’s out of warranty, a Repair PCB must be ordered from the Parts Distribution Center.
The dealer will be charged 100% of the New PCB price. The defective PCB can be returned using the
Online Repair Board Core Form within 30 days of the Repair PCB invoice date. Upon receipt of the
defective PCB at the National Return Center, the dealer will be credited 55% of the New PCB price. If a
New PCB is ordered instead of a Repair PCB, credit will not be issued for the returned defective PCB.

MAINTENANCE KIT CHANGES

Components of the Maintenance Kits have been updated for compatibility with these new products. However, the item
number remains the same. Maintenance Kits that have a Blue Dot on the outer Bar Code Label can be used in
3051ci/3551ci/4551ci/5551ci and 3050ci/3550ci/4550ci/5550ci Color MFP’s.
The previous maintenance Kit used with the 3050ci/3550ci/4550ci/5550ci Color MFP’s, without the Blue Dot,
cannot be used with the new 3051ci/3551ci/4551ci/5551ci Color MFP’s.

Utility DESCRIPTION
Kyocera NET Admin v3.1 Kyocera NET Admin is Kyocera's unified device management
solution that uses a web-based platform to give network
administrators easy and uncomplicated control of all network
enabled printing devices.
Kyocera NET Admin is web-based, so no client software

installation is necessary.
Kyocera NET Viewer Administrator Utility, which monitors Kyocera network devices
with the ability to display and report device conditions via e-
mail using SMTP.
Command Center RX Command Center RX features allow the user to access the
User Box and carry out operations such as printing data,
sending, and downloading. Download settings can be
changed (such data as format, resolution, color mode), data
stored inside the Box can be viewed as lists or thumbnails, or
even as an image preview with the preview image feature.
Other features include automatically updating of screens,

customizing user screens and viewing department &
restriction settings.
ID Register v3.0.1404 Card Access Account Configuration Application

The AK-731 required when a Document Finisher is installed has been changed to an All- In-One Unit, reducing setup
time and improved paper jam removal access.

Upgrading Firmware
Firmware Upgrade time has been decreased by improving the upgrade method.
Accidental Power shutdown during firmware upgrade via network
 If power is turned OFF during the download of the Firmware to the Hard Drive via the network, the machine
powers up normally when turning the power ON.
 If power is turned OFF after completion of the download file to the HD, the update will continue when power is
turned back ON. A message will display indicating “FW-UPDATE, Completed, No Change” and the Firmware
update will automatically restart.
Following maintenance modes are newly added to meet security requirements, IEEE 2600 Compliance.
