Summary:
 Sociology is the study of social behavior. Sociologist examine social behavior in
individuals and groups, and also study social structures like society.The word Sociology
derives from the French word,sociologie,a hybrid coined in 1830 by French philosopher
Auguste Comte from the latin: socious,meaning “companion” and the ology,meaning
“knowledge”.

 Agents of socialization that can impress social norms upon individual,include the
family,religion,peer groups,economic systems,legal systems,penal systems,penal
systems,language and the media.Sociology need to established as an independent
science.Sociology in modern society should be scientific.Pattern of human actions has
beome impersonal.Comte believes we need to view society as a whole through the
process of pre-scientific to scientific.

 Sociologist study all aspects and levels of society. A society is a group of people whose
members interact,reside in a definable area and share a culture.A culture include the
group shared practices,values,beliefs,norms and artifact.

 The concept of culture is one of the most important nations in sociology. We can not talk
about culture without drawing links and identity. This topic explains how culture plays
an important role in inperetuating the values and norms of a society. Culture also offers
significant opportunities for resourcefulness and change. Cultural values and norms
often change overtime. In to day,s we have unprecedented opportunities to make
ourselves and to create our own identities. Talking about identity, we are our own best
resources in finding who we are, where we have come from and where are we going.
 Importance of Sociology:

1. Importance for individual:

 It is realized to an individual that “alone” he is nothing.

2. Importance for Society:

 Sociology aware the people with the social realities and values.

3. Importance at Global level:

 Sociology tries to inclulcate the people that peaceful co-existance and status is relevent
and important for all actions.

4. Importance for Pakistan:

 Sociology is important for pakistan to create social harmony and build national character.

5. Importance Business Profesionals:

By providing in depth knowledge of society, the sociology enables the business

professional to interact property with individual and organizations using the knowledge
of the social dynamic of the society to expand the business opportunity.

Need of Socialization:
 Socialization makes it possible for us to fully functions as human beings.

 Without socialization,we could not have our society and culture.And without social
interactions, we can not have socialization.

 Socialization is important to society as, to is to individual. It is through this process of

socialization that every society transmit its culture to succeeding generations.
