Integration by Partial Fractions
CASE 3 : When the denominator contains a non repeated quadratic factor
which cannot be factorized Anther:
g (x) = (ax2 + bx + c) (x - 𝛂1) (x - 𝛂2)
Example
CASE 4 : When the denominator contains a repeated quadratic
factor which cannot be factorised further: That is
g (x) = (ax2 + bx +c)2 (x -𝛂1 ) (x - 𝛂2)
CASE 5 : If the integrand contains only even powers of x
1. Put x2 = t.
2. Resolve the resulting rational expression in t into partial
fractions
3. Put t = x2 again in the partial fractions and then integrate.
