Meetings, Meetings, Meeting
We are now seven months into social distancing. We all have been working on how to
keep that connection to each other which for some of us is one of the cornerstones of our
respective clubs. Here are a few platforms that are being used. (continued on page 5)

Google Meets is Zoom with its user friendly WebEx was build with
probably the simplest and interface and virtual business in mind. I feel it
its built into any google backgrounds, it might be the has the most administrative
account. Setting up a most popular program. rights and if you know the
meeting can be done From Zoom.com you can name Cisco you know the
though google calendar sign up for free account technology background the
company is rooted in.

“McStallation”
Recently AYP like many other clubs found a
way to run their installation with a
McDonald’s theme. This is one idea that
seems to resonate with clubs is to run a
theme to engage the members and put a
smile on each others faces. Whether you’re
club is build with foodies, or you want to
show off you photogenic pet, they are sure to
be a talking point for you members who may
not have been able to see each other.

to give us more than a
passing glance
Now is as good as time as ever to
think about how market ourselves.
To the left is a tri-fold brochure for
the Kiwanis Club of Honolulu
created by past Lt Gov Lynn
Araki-Regan. It is designed to be a
printed front and back with the title
cover on the bottom right. When
opened it focuses on the 5 W’s we
learned as kids, and also highlights
some of the projects that the
Honolulu club really enjoys year
after year. Most importantly she
has the new membership
application built into the brochure
so that it can be filled out when we
are most relevant, before our
impact has begun to fade.

Key Club D22 Makai

This past month Division 22 Makai had our DCM as well as a joint service project with our
sponsoring Kiwanis on the 9th. Clubs also participated in Key Club Week and our mask
making project where we were able to create and send 156 masks to the Kiwanis Family
House. This month we also participated in the first ever joint interstate service project with
divisions from California and Nevada called "Service Around the District." Next month our
DCM will be held on December 7th at 7:00pm on Zoom.

Hello Division 22! Key Club D22 Hikina
Hope that you are all doing well! My name is Jennifer
Cheung and I serve as Division 22 Hikina’s Lieutenant
Governor. Division 22 Hikina has been busy this past month
doing various service projects, such as folding origami cranes
for hospitals, making cards for Children’s Justice Center,
making goodie bags, and even a gardening project, where
Kaiser Key Club members helped weed, mulch, and plant
plants at their school garden. After a busy month full of
service, we gathered together for a spooky Among Us Social,
where members throughout the division were able to meet
each other and bond. For the future months, we will have a
November DCM on November 14th, and Region 18’s
Candidate Training Conference will be on Sunday, December
6th for anyone interested in running for LTG next year! We are
really excited to get into the holiday spirit as December
approaches, and we hope to incorporate this into more service
projects and events! I hope that you all continue to stay safe
and healthy!

Key Club D22 Komohana
"Division 22 Komohana covers parts of West, East,
and Central O‘ahu. Last Saturday, November 14, we
had our monthly Division Council Meeting (DCM)
with 115 people in attendance. The theme was
“Gobble Gobble for Service” and attendees changed
their background to a thanksgiving theme. After the
DCM, we drew hand turkeys for kupuna to show
them that they are loved, remembered, and that we
truly are "ALL IN THIS TOGETHER" during these
unprecedented times. On Saturday, November 21
from 9:00AM to 3:00PM, we will be having our
Leadership Training Conference. The theme is
“Follow the Yellow Brick Road at LTC.” Registration
closes Wednesday, November 18. There will be
various games, workshops, and division bonding
activities. Some projects and/or events our clubs
have been doing are Kiwanis Takeover meeting(s),
dog toy making, cranes for cancer, and much more!"

Attached is a photo of Damien Key Club at Blaisdell

Park at their paper crane collection. They worked
together with Alakai Young Professionals, Kapolei
Key Club, and Waipahu Key Club. Together they
were able to make 2,057 cranes!

The other picture shows one of the pet toys that

were made in a joint project with Damien Key Club,
Pearl Harbor Kiwanis, and Waipahu Key Club. They
made pet toys out of old clothes for Oahu SPCA!

I hope you all have a great week and take care!

Google Meet: meet.google.com

The best way to is to access the scheduling is to go
through google calendar (calendar.google.com). Picture
on the left shows when you create an event and the blue
button in the middle adds a google meet to that event and
you can copy the link and share with members.
Benefit:
- Simplest set up, Guest can be invited so it appears
in their google calendar
- Browser based so relative easy access
- Pretty strong closed caption system built in (not
perfect it got my last name wrong)
Limitation:
Time limit of 60 min
- Looks to be unlimited until March of 2021

Zoom: zoom.com
You could create an account but it appears you can
login with your google account. The user interface
is user friendly, and the host control is nice. There
are some settings that you’ll have to play around
with for added benefits but the default settings
aren’t too bad. The DCM’s for both the Key Clubs
and Kiwans are conducted through zoom.
Benefits:
- Widespread usage
- User interface
- Virtual Backgrounds (popular for meeting
themes)
- Limitations: Time limit of 40 mins
