Hand Over Notes

Daily Routines:

 Currently the vessel is in UMS. You and 4/E will alternately be on-watch at night. C/E, 2/E,
and ETO are on-call. Call them when needed. You are on-watch together with Wiper.
 Your work duty is 0700H-1800H. If it you are the duty engineer on watch, your safety rounds
is at 2100H-2200H. Please fill up UMS Checklist and file it up. File located at S:\A8. 4TH
ENGINEER\4E ONYOK\Papeleses
 In the morning and evening, please check the oil levels of ME Sump tank, AEs Sump Tank,
Purifiers, Steering Gear Hydraulic Units, and Compressors. Also check the level of HT/LT
Expansion Tanks, FW Hydrophore Tanks, and backwash both RO Units 1&2.
 Check Settling Tanks 45 and 46, and Service Tanks 43 and 44. Fill up Internal Oil Transfer
Checklist. File located at S:\A8. 4TH ENGINEER\4E ONYOK\Papeleses
 Rest hours are filled up by 4/E, coordinate with him if needed.
 Every morning there will be toolbox meeting, jobs for all are to be designated by 2/E. if you
have jobs to be done, raise it with 2/E.
 Please regularly check and replace viledon filters of AE Turbochargers and Genset, as well as
ER Fire Flaps.
 Please check suction and discharge pressures of HFO and LO Purifier Feed Pumps, clean if
necessary.

Weekly Routines

 You are in charge of the Testing of Safety Equipment. Please refer to checklist attached.
Please also file this one. File located at. S:\A8. 4TH ENGINEER\4E ONYOK\Papeleses
 You are in charge of testing of water content in ME System Oil, to be taken after purifier and
before engine. Take pictures of the result and send to SI.
 You are in charge of testing of Piston Underside Drain Oil Iron and TBN Tests. Fill up the
form, which will be sent every end of the motnh. File located at S:\MONTHLY REPORTING

 Update Running Hours in AMOS. Coordinate with Oiler with this one. Also update work
orders in AMOS, and print out work orders of the upcoming week.
 When you test AMSA and SOLAS Generators, please check the oil level, coolant level, fuel
level, emergency stop, flaps and fuel quick-release valve. Clean the area if necessary.
 When testing of ER Bilge Alarms, check the level of water/oil in the bilges. Pump out if
necessary.
 When testing of Forward Bilge Alarm, also check the water level on the bilge, pump out if
required. Emergency Fire P/P is used to pump out the bilges at forward, please call the
bridge to confirm the hydrants at cargo hold decks are closed. Also call engine room to
ensure that generator is capable of having additional load.
 Also close the Anchor Wash Valves, as there will be no suction if these valves are left
opened. Open them after pumping out.

Monthly Routines

 You are in charge of taking Speed Performance Test. See attached form for this one.
 You are in charge of taking ME Performance Test. See attached form for this one.
 Take AE Performance Test on all AEs. Form also attached.
 In reporting Monthly Reporting Tools, you are in charge of filling up ME Reports. Please
update all forms in the folder. Files located at S:\MONTHLY REPORTING TOOLS -
MRT\ENGINE MONTHLY REPORT 2017-2021\5. ER MONTHLY REPORT 2021\2. ER
MONTHLY REPORT
 You are also in charge of updating Monthly Waste Management for Engine side. This is to be
sent by 2nd Officer so coordinate with him with this one. File located at S:\MONTHLY
REPORTING TOOLS - MRT\MRT 2021

Additional:

 There is new Unplanned Maintenance Report Form. When doing unplanned maintenance,
this is to be used. This form will be sent to SI and also attached in AMOS.
 Working Permit Forms and RA Forms could be downloaded at Fleet Impact. Don’t use forms
with authors anymore. These forms will be filed up at Bridge upon completion. Templates
for these are already compiled at S:\E- FILES GALLOWAY EXPRESS\ENGINE FOLDER
 Gasoline spares are located at Paint Store. Spark Plugs for MOB located at MOB Storage
Chamber. When testing MOB, please clean the cooling pump strainer first. After testing,
drain the water in the drum.
