Introduction:

Company Policy, SHEQ, Security & ISM


Safety is the first and foremost and is taken into consideration at all times. Wallem goal is zero
accidents, zero harm to people and zero damage to the environment. All jobs are undertaken
after carrying out risk assessment and being discuss during tool box meeting. Risk assessment
form is attached to most of the PMS jobs in BASSNET where required. The vessel at all times
operates within the guidelines of the ISM Safety Management System.

Technical Management
Presently the company SI incharge

Present Charter Party Speed/consumption: are about and valid under good weather/smooth
sea (no adverse currents/no negative influence of swell, at the condition of clean bottom in
open, calm and deep-sea conditions). Up to and including bf scale 4/ douglas sea state 3:

Ballast: about 17.0 knots on about 26.1 mt/day VLSFO + 2.5 for A/E and M/E @ 96 rpm
Laden: about 17.0 knots on about 30.2 mt/day VLSFO + 5.5 for A/E or more it depends the load
of the cargo compressor. M/E @ 99 rpm.

In-port:
Working: about 2 cranes 5.0 mt/day VLSFO including boiler.
Idle: about 3.5 mt/day or more including boiler.

Please find the FO consumption data(poster available in ECR & CE Cabin) at various Ship Load
condition.

Vessel may consume VLSFO, ULSFO and LSMGO for Main Engine/Generators for warming up of
the system & start/stop. Vessel runs 3 generators for maneuvering in/out of port, shifting
berth/anchorage due to there is bow thruster to be use. Navigating in
congested/narrow/shallow waters, canals or channels. During poor visibility, during
loading/discharging bad weather or strong currents, including ballast/de-ballasting operations,
hold cleaning operations.

Generally Main engine condition is good.

Diesel Generators:
YANMAR

Please find the attached Running hours maintenance sheet for your perusal.
No issue with AEs. All 4 AE can take load upto 900kW.

Auxiliary Boiler:
Thermal Oil System less maintenance just keep on eye the entire piping system.
Make sure Burner routines are carried out before every arrival port.

Main Air Compressor


Working in good condition
Emergency Air Compressor:
Working in good condition and tested weekly. Needs constant checking of parameters.
Unloading timers were in disabled/by-passed condition when I took over. We replaced
the timers and all safety alarms and cut-outs tried out. Cooling pump needs to monitored.

Heavy Oil Purifiers,


H.F.O and D.O purifier working good condition. This is ALCAP type purifiers – so no need to
change the gravity disc for different densities. Same gravity disc to be used. Only purification
temperature should be set.
All maintenance up-to-date. Have enough spares for maintenance for next 5 months.

ME and AE L.O Purifiers,


Running in good condition. Since there is no incinerator onboard, LO purifiers are being
operated for 4-5 days before arrival port, where sludge can be disposed.

MARPOL
1. No Incinerator Onboard. That is why you discharge sludge in
every port just keeps control the sludge.

2. Bilge Water Separator:


3. Working satisfactory and 15 ppm alarm activated.
Class Survey for IOPP certification(Annual) done in the month of August 2022.
We have 1 set spare onboard coalescer & absorber filters.

3. Sewage Treatment Plant:


Working satisfactory.
New spare Discharge pump & motor received. This is kept as spare, since the in-use pump is
working satisfactorily.

Freshwater Generator, Capacity: 25 tons /day


Average production 15 mt/day.
We have fabricated chemical cleaning arrangement for FWG. So in every port, Condensor
and evaporator can be cleaned by chemical recirculation. Once in 4 months, plates can be
opened up and cleaned.

Refrigerant Systems

1. Air Condition Plant:


Working satisfactory

2. Prov. Refrigeration Plant


Working satisfactory. Change-over of service is done on monthly basis.

3. Meat and Fish Provision Rooms


All temperature setting is normal to meet the required temperature.

4. Engine Control Room Package A/C


We have 1 package control room AC. To avoid tripping of Unit cooler/AC condenser cleaning
to be done atleast every two months. Last cleaning done in Nov monthend.
System is sea water cooled.

Engine room Pumps

Main SW pump & motors/No. 1 &2: are working satisfactory.

Fire & GS pump & motors – unit are working satisfactory.

Fire & Bilge pump & motors – unit are working satisfactory.

Main LO pump & motors – unit are working satisfactory.

E/R Fan blowers & motors – Working in good condition. Also all flaps tested manually every
week.

Cargo Hold and Fresh Air Supply fan motor already check in good condition.( Done by
ship Staff) Inventory of motor cargo hold and fresh air supply fan is already prepared and
available in ECR.

Steering Gear System:


System is in good working order.
Emergency steering tried out and Engine staff familiarized.

2 sets Deck Cranes and 2 sets Pallet Cranes


All working satisfactory.
All the hydraulic components were working satisfactorily during my contract. We topped up oil.
Renewed gear case oil, cleaned and filters and other basic routines.

Few electrical issues might arise sometimes, which can be resolved immediately. We have not
faced any off-hiring so far.

Kindly familiarize & understand the electrical circuitry so that it will be helpful for swift
troubleshooting.

Safety

Please find attached Safety checks routines with dates which can be maintained for
immediate reference for planning.

Co2 fixed fire-fighting system


Satisfactory good condition.

Lifeboats & Rescue boat - are in good working condition.


Every week by 2/ E and 4/E

Engine room blower dampers & funnel flaps


Tested every week and working satisfactory.

Emergency Fire Pump:


Working satisfactory building up pressure and meets the SOLAS requirement, 7.0 bars. (With
only two hoses open forward & aft). Unit can be run in three (3) location, in local/by remote in
bridge & fire control station.
Note: during third party inspection/testing make sure anchor washing valves are closed &
isolation v/v to engine room is close also.
Tested weekly

Fire Alarm System


As per BASSNET schedule detector are tested weekly.

There is still outstanding fault in cargo hold 3 A for double addressing.


Fire heat detector is already raise in Bassnet.

Emergency Generator:
Tested 29 September 2021 working satisfactory with load.
Weekly test carried out.

ISPS
All ISPS related equipment was tested and records maintained in BASSNET and ISPS file located
in ECR.

All communications and forms are retained and filed in respective sections.
Ship security alarm (SSAS) tested last September 2022.
Steering Gear room is the designated CITADEL.
Iridium antenna was newly fitted in steering room. Iridium phone in CE Cabin.

Requisitions, stores and Lube

Stores every 3 months.


Lube Oil must be created(Separate Form also to be sent) one month in advance in order not to
struggle to find the supplier.
Anyway, we just received all lube oil, lube oil sample bottle, grease and chemicals.

If you need you spares don’t hesitate to raise requisition and inform first
Technical superintendent for approval.

You go to Chief Engineer folder and you can see all important matter.
We have made Engine Folder, where important documents are maintained.

Bass net password you can use your personal user’s name and your
permanent password.
Before you depart office will provide your user’s name.

Daily routine

- Engine tool box meeting before they will start the job
- Check incoming email
- Boots on deck with Master if time permitted.
- Daily work done before knock off with photo for evidence to send to Master.
- Defect list must be update weekly.
Noon report /Engine Abstract t/Daily fuel Consumption to fill-up

DAILY FUEL consumption main engine auxiliary engine and boiler.

Weekly routine

- Weekly routine testing & inspection of LSA / Alarms / Safety & emergency equipment.
- Weekly maintenance reporting (Every Monday including lube oil spot test and Stern tube
Check Sheet to send to office).
- Weekly update of IOPP tanks in ORB (every Saturday).
- Weekly every Monday before noon, Weekly report, Stern Tube Form and Lube Oil Spot
Test
- Weekly update for Oil Record Book also in Bass net.
