Handover Notes:

Incinerator and Sludge system.

Incinerator is in good working condition.
Burner should be cleaned monthly, poor flame quality might also require a more frequent
cleaning. Burner was last cleaned on 30.10.2021.
Heating coils for Waste oil tank should be cleaned as often as possible preferably as soon
as it is noticed that the evaporation efficiency has decreased or stopped at all.
To prevent sludge overflow into save-all, when operating incinerator ensure that refractory
surface is red-hot before admitting sludge of more than 0.2 bar into the combustion
chamber.

For effective evaporation do not exceed 70cm when filling up the Waste Oil tank.
 Remember to change grease on flue gas fan bearings monthly.
 check fan belt tension, adjust as per manual if necessary.

Sludge from all tanks should be transferred to the Waste Oil Tank for evaporation and
incineration afterwards. Make it a point to pump out sludge from Scavenge drain tank
regular interval.
Incinerator Sludge circulating pump overhauled in January 2021.

Bilge system; stator of pump changed in August 2021. Weekly routine cleaning of the
suction filter aid to improve rate, proper maintenance of the pump and in addition to routine
cleaning of bilge well.

BOILERS.
All boilers are in good working condition.
All boiler fuel oil supply pumps and motor overhauled (05-06 /06/21) and mechanical seals
for feed water for boiler #1& #2 changed .
While one of the boilers is in operation, other should be at idle hot.
Please keep in mind that BLR ignition pumps have their own DO filters inside and they also
should be cleaned once per 3 month. Last cleaned (20/11/21)
Water analysis should be conducted weekly; results should be recorded in waterproof
program (Start shortcut on ECR desktop).
All water tests are currently in good and correct ranges. (Chemicals used for the Boilers are
Auto treat & Oxygen Scavenger). Keep an eye on Boiler dosing drum and Hotwell, fill up
when necessary and apply every day of Oxygen Scavenger plus 0.5-0.7 litre a day to
hotwell condensate side, keep in mind only apply Autotreat if the alkalinity is lower than 180
if already above 250 stop the dosing.
Remember to blow down water level gauges and sensor chambers as often as possible to
prevent blockage of drains.
DO Service Tank for Incinerator and Boilers outlet filter should be cleaned on monthly basis.
Clean burner rotary cups weekly. For your guidance, other maintenance jobs to be carried
out on the Boilers can be found in the noon counter shortcut on the ECR desktop at the
Boiler section.

Cooling Water
Cooling water for Main Engine and Auxiliary engine were on correct ranges, they were M/E
HT cooling water, M/E LT cooling water, and AE HT cooling water
Chemical we use for cooling water is Rocor NB Liquid, always monitor the range of Nitrite
and add if only necessary (below 1260), and stop the dosing if the range is above 1800.

Sewage Treatment Plant

Sewage treatment plant is in good working condition.
Add 200 mg of Gamazyme 700 FN twice a week into sewage treatment plant via toilet from
bridge toilet down to ECR toilet; Also add Gamazyme Digestor into galley sinks.
Before application, they should be mixed with hot water and stirred properly. Water washing
of settling chamber should be done on monthly basis. Ensure that crew members don’t use
any other toilet cleaner except Gamazyme BTC (Biological Toilet Cleaner) and Gamazyme
MSC for cleaning of shower spaces and sinks, because all other cleaners have foaming
affect and they kill the bacteria.

For better performance add 0.3L “Vaptreat” chemical into FWG dosing tk. and ensure that
the tank level is always filled for operation. .
All FWG Evaporator and Condenser plates were replaced by new one in Jan 2021.
New Vaptreat dosing hose installed in Jan 2021.
Before starting ensure that M/E RPM stable.
Calorifier is now on electric heating, always keep temperature around 50 degrees Celsius.
Keep eye also on Hydrophore tank pressure and level in sight glass.

Weekly and monthly duties:

Weekly:
 Engine room & bow thruster bilge alarms to be tested weekly. (Sunday- Safety Day).
 L.O test to be carried out and recorded weekly.
 Boiler & Cooling water tests to be carried out and recorded in the Waterproof
program. (For Boiler should be 18 times test and for cooling water 8 times per
month).
 Waterproof Pdf. and xml. Documents (Create this one using waterproof service
application) and after put on monthly report to Chief Engineer folder
 Chemical and L.O inventory. ( Every end of month )
