B Lifeboat Falls
1 Complete details and dates in Appendix 4 of the manual
Falls used in launching shall be turned end-for-end at intervals of not
more than 30 months and be renewed when necessary due to

deterioration of the falls or intervals of not more than 5 years,
whichever is the earliest.
Initial the job annually to verify that all falls are in good condition and

the date either for renewing or end-for-ending.
C Lifeboat Engines - Referring to Manufacturer's Manual
Clean or renew as necessary all air/oil/lubricating oil filters and filter
1
elements.
Drain, flush out systems, renew with correct grades of oil, as
2
necessary.
3 Check Fuel injection nozzles if exhaust is dirty
4 Check injector timing and pressure as necessary
D Lifeboat Davit Winches
Ensure that davit locking pins ( harbor pins ) are fitted and boat
1
secured.
Open winch brake and clutch mechanism. In for wear and corrosion.
2 Replace brake lining before being worn down to rivets. Check clutch
and centrifugal brake mechanism to be free for wear.
E Breathing Apparatus
Breathing Apparatus must be checked and parts as diaphragms and
1 seals must be replaced as necessary ( see manufacturer instruction
book for more details).
F Escaping Devices
1 All units must be checked according manufacturer's inspection book
G CO2 System
Inspection and maintenance according manufacturer's instruction

book.
