I. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
**********************************

- Microsoft Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP


- In addition to the RAM required by the operating system your computer is
running, this software requires 16 MB RAM.
- 133 Mhz Processor or better
- CD-ROM Drive
- Color monitor capable of producing 640x480 pixels (800x600 or 1024x768 is
preferred). HOWEVER resolutions greater thant 1024x768 are not supported.
- Printer
- Adobe Acrobat Reader (needed to read Logware Manual included on CD-ROM).

Acrobat Reader is available for free download at http://www.adobe.com.

Pearson doesn�t provide technical support for third-party software.

II. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
**********************************

Insert the Logware CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM drive.

1. Use Windows Explorer or another method to display the contents of the CD-ROM
drive.
2. Double click the "setup.exe" icon, which will begin the installation process.
3. Follow the installation prompts to install the software in your desired
location.

Alternatively:

1. Click on the Start Menu and select Run.


2. Type x:\setup.exe and click OK. ("x" being the drive
letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive).
3. Follow the installation prompts.

(The program may also be installed with Windows� Start,


Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Install option. Change the
subdirectory under which the program will be installed if the default subdirectory
is not
desired.)

III. NAVIGATION
**********************************

After the program is installed, click on the Start button and select Programs.
Choose the
Logware icon to activate the program. Click on the desired program module. A
shortcut
icon on the Desktop may also be created.

The main screen for this software program allows you to access any of the modules
it contains. Choose a module by double clicking it. Once inside a module, click
"Start" to bring up the data file selection for that module. Choose the
appropriate data file to load it into the software.

Please see "Logware manual.pdf" on this CD-ROM to learn about the software and its
uses. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the manual. (Available for free
at http://www.adobe.com.)

Note: The first time you open the software, you will see a brief initialization
message, containing information and instructions on how best to use the software.

NOTE: When you enter a module screen, you MUST click exit before returning to the
menu. If you simply close the module window, the menu screen will not function.

IV. CD-ROM CONTENTS
**********************************

This CD-ROM contains the following resources:

- "Logware manual.log" and "Logware manual.pdf": These are the files for the
manual.
- "Logware.CAB": This file contains the components of the software. It shuld not
be manipulated in any way.
- "Setup.exe" and "Setup.lst": These are the setup files.

- computer make and model
- RAM available
- hard disk space available
- graphics card type
- sound card type
- printer make and model
- network connection
- detailed description of the problem, including the
exact wording of any error messages.
