WORK:
What is your job?
I am a production operator in a biodiesel plant

Where do you work? Describe your place of work.

I work in sustainable biofuels of the Caribbean, it is a company dedicated to the
production of biodiesel, which has a variety of equipment, machinery, tanks and pipes,
it also has an administrative, part dedicated to the financial area.

What responsibilities do you have at work?

Verify that the process variables are not altered in the plant.

Describe your activities at work. Do you like your job? Yes, No. Why?
I am in charge of carrying out the inventories, taking samples and other movements
that are required in the plant.
Yes, because I am in the operational area, where all the equipment and machines are,
from which I really like to learn.

Describe your skills and weaknesses for this job.

My skills in this job is my experience and the knowledge I have about the production
area of biodiesel.
My weakness is not knowing a little about the administrative area, since I am always at
the plant.

What was your first day at work like?

It was a bit stressful due to the amount of movements that were made in the plant, and
the little knowledge I had of it to help my colleagues.

Do you have or know about any superstition in your business/work/office?

Well, it so happens that every time it rains the energy goes out, and this causes
disturbances in production, so every time it rains we see a bad omen.

What do you study?
I'm an industrial engineer student

Where do you study?

At the National Open and Distance University (UNAD)

What is your favorite subject?

The subjects that are administrative and English in nature call my attention, in which I
would like to deepen.

What are your responsibilities at University?

Comply with the assigned activities in the stipulated time.

Describe your activities at University. Do you like your career? Yes, No. Why?
Well, I dedicate part of my time to the development of the jobs that the tutors provide
us and to comply with the laboratories that we have in other cities.
Yes, I like my career, because it is very versatile, since it applies to different areas of
the industry.

Describe your skills and weaknesses for this job.

My ability is that I take every moment to learn.
My weakness is that the time I can dedicate to study is very limited, due to the work I
do in the company.

What was your first day at University like?

Well, I think like most, full of expectations and connection to the virtual studio.

Do you have or know about any superstition in your school/University?

Bathing before starting to study, it is said that you have a fresh and open mind to think
and act more effectively
