 Lesson 2: How is Motion Described?
 Students will be able to understand how motion can be described.
2. Learning Objectives:
Cognitive: Students will be able to explain different between distance and displacement, and different
between speed and velocity.
Affective: Students will be able to classify the factors that affect an object’s momentum.
Psychomotor: Students will be able to break down their understanding of different between distance and
displacement, and different between speed and velocity.
3. Materials: (books, white board, A4 sheet)
Intro/Anticipatory Set: (Review their previous knowledge about motion)
4. Procedure:
o Ask what students know about motion
o Choose two or three students to answer
o Ask what do they know about relative motion
o Explain relative motion
o Explain type of motions
 Ask what is Straight-line motion, Circular motion, Vibrational motion
 How students understand
o Ask what is distance and displacement
o Explain the different
o Ask what do they know about speed and velocity
o Explain what is speed and velocity
o Let them to guess how they are different
o Explain the different by using formula
o Ask what is momentum
o Explain factors that affect an object’s momentum
o Let them do the classwork
