Mr. Pace, Date: 02/03/21
This is Matt, Trenton's father. He showed me your response to retaking Test-1. Thank you. I
had another talk with Trenton.
He was supposed to complete
Quiz-2 during class time today. We are working on his attention to assignment details. Can he
do it during class time tomorrow? We will also make sure HW 3.4 is turned in on time Friday.
We appreciate your understanding. These times are difficult for both students and teachers.
Again, I thank you.
~Matt

Dear Mr. Mehan, Date: 02/04/21
Thank you for reaching out to me on behalf of Trenton. I am including the email that I recently
sent to Trenton below. I understand how difficult it is to be a student during this time.
In Trenton's email you will find a link to take Test-1 (it was an online exam) and a link for Quiz-2
(which is in preparation for our class’ second test coming up on Tuesday (Group B - 02.09)).
Students were allowed an hour-and-a-half to complete Test-1. If possible, it would be helpful if
you would allow Trenton two hours to work on the exam, when he is ready. I will consider his
test-corrections after he has submitted his test.
The homework assignments are meant to allow students the practice they need to be
successful on the assessments. I will grade his prior homework as soon as possible. As far as
HW 3.4 and the Test-2 review worksheet are concerned, he can turn them in next week. Lastly,
students were given a City Plan assignment to help them recognize the angle pairs formed
when a transversal cuts through parallel lines. I am more than happy to extend the due date for
this to the following Friday (02.12). I've attached the assignment to this email. It is worth 30
points in the academic category (i.e., a way for students to boost their grade in the test/quizzes
category).
Would it be helpful to reschedule his Test-2 so that he can concentrate on completing the first
test? This would require him to come in at a different time or take the test during a class period.
I am open to your suggestions and desire Trenton's success.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you,

Mr. Pace
