Required Materials
Textbook: Big Ideas Math Geometry by Ron Larson & Laurie Boswell (provided online as a resource).
Workbook: Big Ideas Math Geometry Student Journal (provided in class & available online). Please bring workbooks to class.
Notebook/Writing Tools: College ruled notebook, pencils/pens/colored pencils/markers, & compasses (provided).
Calculator: Texas Instrument TI-30XIIS scientific calculators are provided in class.

Classroom Expectations: Mathematics is a field of study that requires diligent practice. For that reason, it is necessary to develop
productive study habits and seek help when necessary. Students are expected to take notes, be attentive during lessons, and respect your
peers. This means that cell phones need to be stowed away during class! If you are absent, you are responsible for letting me know so that
you can get the material/assignments that you missed. Here is to an amazing 2nd semester!

Grade Percentage Breakdown

Homework: Homework related to each chapter section will be assigned on a regular basis. Students are responsible for handing
homework in on time. Late assignments are subject to a grade reduction per the instructor's discretion. Strong work habits (that is,
successfully doing your homework) will prepare you to perform well on tests.
Exams: There will be a unit test for each chapter and one final exam. Every exam is cumulative (i.e., covers material from previous
chapters). During each test you are permitted a 3x5 notecard and calculator. NO other resources are allowed. *NOTE: All exams must be
taken on the scheduled exam date unless prior agreement to reschedule the exam has been approved by the instructor (i.e., only legitimate
reasons for exam rescheduling will be valid and they must be approved before the exam date). If you need extra time or other
accommodations during your exams, please let me know.
Quizzes: Quizzes will account for 5% of your total grade and will help you be prepared for tests.
Extra Credit: No extra credit is awarded in math classes according to school policy. Please take advantage of office hours and homework
help sessions to prepare yourself for success.

Absences: Each student is responsible for material covered in class. If you will be absent for a legitimate reason (i.e., doctor’s
appointment, sporting event, etc.), you must communicate this with me so that we can determine an appropriate course of action for you
to makeup assignments. We will start class once the period-bell rings. Please be respectful of your peers and be in class before the bell has
chimed.

Academic Integrity: All student work must be completed with integrity and compliance with these rules. All infractions (e.g., representing
another’s work as one’s own, cheating on exams, plagiarizing, etc.) will be subject to severe disciplinary action including the possibility of
suspension and failing the course. If you have any question as to whether an action is inappropriate, please contact an administrator. Δ
