Quality Standard #4 (Mentor Comments/Feedback)

Element A:
Mr. Pace is professional in everything he does. He acts with integrity in all his actions and
constantly works to make himself better in the teaching profession.
Element B:
In TSD we have a new curriculum—Big Ideas. Mr. Pace used these materials to plan lessons and
aligned them to the district goals and the CO state standards. He also used his personal knowledge
and data from his formative assessments to build on his lessons to become stronger as an educator
and to effectively meet the needs of the students.
Element C:
With the state of the world, teachers had to constantly change the way they were teaching and
reaching students. Mr. Pace started the year virtually, moved to hybrid, and then full in-person.
Throughout all of this, he never once failed to teach his students. He handled his student teaching
well and made sure to meet all the needs and goals set before him by the students, the district, and
CSU.
Element D:
This may have been the hardest element for student teacher to hit this year. I believe in a normal
year Mr. Pace would have been able to hit every element in this section. Any time three was a
meeting that Mr. Pace knew about, he wanted to attend and be a part. Unfortunately, with COVID,
we did not have as many meetings or teams in place.
Feedback/Questions/Next steps for overall Teacher Candidate Quality Standard #4:
Standard 4 was easy for Mr. Pace. He is very professional in everything he does. He works very hard
to make sure his lessons are ready for each day. I do not see this changing in his future but the only
advice I would give Mr. Pace would be to find a leadership group in the school that he can be a part
of. When you are on a team like that, you learn more about your school and community. This will
help you in your classroom and profession, making you a better educator.
