Cure Time

2) List and discuss your conclusions from this histogram.

After performing an evaluation of 100 batches tested for edge defects where a sample of
plastic material was tested for cure time before moulding. The results showed that the curing
times in the moulding operation are the main causes of edge flaws. 44 out of 100 tested
samples did not have any defect when the curing time was between 29 and 36. Meaning that
if the plastic curing timing is under 29 and above 36, the batches will have at least 1 defect
per item. It can be noticed that batches with a curing time above 38 showed between 2 and
5 defects per item, resulting in edges become brittle and fracture leaving the moulding
process.

2) List and discuss your conclusions from this histogram.

After performing an evaluation of the Ink-Stamp process where the platen pressure was recorded for
100 batches and the finished tags were inspected to validate if tags had any manufacturing defect. The
results concluded that the variation of pressure times in the Ink-stamp process are the main causes of
defects on batches. The test showed that samples with a pressure time between 49 and 52 did not have
any defects. Meaning that these are the correct pressure times for no defective batches. It can be
noticed that under a time pressure of 49, batches had between 1 and 8 defects. The fact that different
operators have preferred settings for platen pressure is the main issue for manufacturing defects in the
Ink-Stamp proces.
