It should be considered that the human perception of echo amplitudes and indications on the currently

observed A-Scan and CB-Scan map is limited by the range not exceeding 30...40 dB even if the
instrument is characterized by extended dynamic range. On the other hand observation of all possible
indications on the single A-Scan / map is desired by the users. In case of PA modality utilized for
performing of SRUT GW inspection it is possible to organize several focal laws over the same beam trace
representing different time intervals (segments) using appropriately settled gain and forming the global
strip chart accordingly. In the portable PA instruments of ISONIC series (ISONIC 3510, ISONIC 2010,
ISONIC 2009) it is implemented with the use of MULTI-A-Scan inspection SW application:

As for conventional modality – ISONIC 3505 and ISONIC 3507 instruments allow forming of the strip chart
out of single A-Scan divided into several time intervals. Thanks to the extended dynamic range of data
capturing each time interval may be observed at the individually settled gain level and the strip chart is
formed accordingly whilst scanning:
