1) Explain how AI technology influenced the recruitment process.


With AI recruiters can process volumes of data to find suitable candidates. AI can scan social media
data to assess the candidate’s values, beliefs and attitudes. With AI recruiters are getting clues on
personality traits and suitability beyond the traditional resumes. AI is unbiased and screens resume
fairly by giving equal weight to all candidates. This is disrupting the recruitment industry and is
replacing repetitive tasks that were traditionally performed by human recruiters. With AI taking care of
boring and repetitive tasks, recruiters now have more time to be creative and can focus on strategic
issues. Recruiters now have more time for long-term planning and building personal relationships with
new hires. AI is good at identifying talent but still the activities like rapport building, assessment of
cultural fit and negotiation needs to be done by humans who now act as talent advisors. AI is
speeding up the hiring process but not build up the relationship between humans.

2) Explain what are the advantages of AI technology in the recruitment process.

 AI is changing the nature of competition in the recruitment industry by impacting all of the top
three priorities like revenue, profitability and candidate acquisition. AI, as a significant force, is
bound to disrupt the recruitment industry, as it changes the strategic direction for recruitment
agencies. With the use of AI, the recruitment agencies can control the cost of talent
acquisition for clients and in turn boost the profitability. The recruitment firms using AI can
now process a higher number of applications as well as cater to a higher number of clients
with current employees. 

 AI leads to real-time and personalized communication leading to efficiency in


candidate acquisition. Promising candidates find it frustrating when they do not hear
from recruiters, who at times take more than a week to start screening of candidates.
AI is used to let the rejected candidates know so they can move on with their job
search.

 AI is intelligently programmed to avoid unconscious bias. AI-powered systems can ignore


primary sources of bias like names, schools attended, gender, age and race. The skills
shortage is one of the foremost challenges faced by recruitment industry.
