QUESTIONS
(Q.1. 30 pts) The collar P slides outward at a constant relative speed u along rod
AB, which rotates counterclockwise with a constant angular velocity of 3 rad/s.
Knowing that r = 200 mm when  =0 and that the collar reaches B when  =90o,
determine the magnitude of the acceleration of the collar P just as it reaches B.

(Q.2. 35 pts) The L-shaped arm BCD rotates about the z axis with a constant
angular velocity 1 of 3 rad/s. Knowing that the 150-mm-radius disk rotates
about BC with a constant angular velocity  2 of 8 rad/s, determine (a) the
velocity of Point A, (b) the acceleration of Point A.

(Q.3. 35 pts) Member ABC has a mass of 3.6 kg and is attached to a pin support
at B. A 1-kg sphere D strikes the end of member ABC with a vertical velocity v1
of 4 m/s. Knowing that L=1 m and that the coefficient of restitution between
the sphere and member ABC is 0.7, determine immediately after the impact
(a) the angular velocity of member ABC, (b) the velocity of the sphere.
