1. What type of control do you think works most effectively with you and why?
o For me, behavioral control is the most effective type of control. Growing up I am
taught to follow rules and have this set of do’s and don’ts wherein if I break one
of these, I will receive a punishment or get reprimanded. I got use to this kind of
control that up until now I still used it to manage my actions and prevent bad
outcomes that I might regret soon.
2. What are some common business practices that you predict will be considered fads in the
future?
o Dress Code and having business cards are some of the common business practices
that I think will be considered as “fads” in the future. Being fashionable and
having a good sense of style is like innate in our personality since we have this
attitude wherein, we want to look good in order to increase our confidence level.
On the other hand, when it comes to owning a business cards, lots of business are
emerging in the current situation that contact information is necessary. Online
communication also became crucial for businesses hence a need for business
cards to easily be contacted.
3. How could you integrate each type of control into a college classroom to maximize
student learning?
o Output Control
 Incorporating output control in a college setup can help in the learning
process of students through the scores/grades attained by them. The
measurement of studying for a student is based on their scores/ grades
gathered wherein if they got low scores, an individual will study harder to
increase his or her scores for the future evaluation.
o Behavioral Control
 Integrating this type of control into a college classroom is by establishing
rules that should be followed through a penalty system. Like for instance
in my school before, we have this “demerit points” wherein it is earned
whenever we break rules of the school. In this way, behavioral control can
manage actions of students that can result into good performance.

o Clan Control
 This type of control is an informal type of control which is based on
shared traditions or values that results into people working toward the
good. It can be used as a control on nurturing students’ learning. One
specific example is when I was in high school, there was this instrument
(gong) that can be likened with mortar and pestle which can make students
stop talking and be silent in preparation for the prayer when it produces
sound.
