DIRECTION: ANSWER AND ACCOMPLISH THE FOLLOWING.

1. Define and explain the following terms:
A. Assessment for learning
Assessments for learning are used to determine a student's grasp and
understanding of a skill or lesson throughout the learning and teaching
process. Frequent progress monitoring is an example of a form of
assessment for learning in which a student's academic performance is
evaluated regularly against benchmarks to determine whether current
instruction and intervention are having a positive effect on student
achievement or if adjustments are necessary.
B. Assessment of learning
Assessments of learning are often given at the conclusion of a unit or
grading period and are used to determine a student's comprehension by
comparing his or her success to a class-, district-, or national benchmark
or standard. Benchmark assessments are a type of learning evaluation in
which children are evaluated three times a year for universal screening.
C. Assessment as learning
Students gain knowledge about themselves as learners and become
aware of how they learn - they develop metacognition (awareness of
one's own thought processes) as a result of this process. When students
reflect on and monitor their progress, they are able to inform their future
learning goals (formative assessment).
2. How do we determine if the Assessment is valid and reliable? Explain
comprehensively.
The reliability of an assessment instrument is determined by how consistently it
measures learning. When an assessment's results are dependable, we can be
confident that subsequent or equal assessments will produce consistent results.
This enables us to make more generalized generalizations about a student's level
of success, which is critical when utilizing assessment data to inform teaching
and learning decisions or when communicating with students and their parents
or caregivers. However, no outcome can be totally dependable. Because random
variation can always alter assessment findings, educators should constantly be
prepared to cast doubt on results. Validity refers to the extent to which an

assessment tool measures what it was supposed to measure. Educational

assessment should always be directed toward a specific goal. Nothing will be
gained from assessment unless the evaluation has some validity for the purpose.
As a result, validity is the most critical single characteristic of a good test. The
validity of an assessment tool refers to the extent to which it accurately
measures the attributes for which it was created. For instance, a reading
comprehension examination should not necessitate mathematics ability.
3. What should we expect of the kind of leadership in the new normal? Enumerate at
least 3 be able to process.
Being an effective leader today, particularly as we navigate our "new normal," is
all about candor. It entails being candid in your day-to-day interactions, candid
in your business practices, and candid regarding the organization's current state.
1. Leaders must be proactive in their efforts and really concerned about the well-
being of those around them.
When you work in an office, it's generally possible to tell when someone is
having a poor day or is upset about anything. This gets significantly more
difficult while working digitally. We need to be more deliberate about how we
check in with people, both at the leadership and managerial levels. This entails
proactively asking inquiries such as "How are you doing these days?" and truly
listening. Rather than quickly jumping on a Zoom conversation and entering into
work-related topics, take a moment to demonstrate your concern.
2. Leaders must also express their emotions.
Transparency is critical in every organization.
However, when everyone works remotely, it might be even more difficult for
you to gauge how your employees and team members are feeling—because they
don't get to see you going around the office.
I'm not pushing for excessive disclosure, but I believe it's critical to be open and
honest about your personal feelings, especially with your executive team. I
recall crying in March while speaking with our executive team about letting
employees go from our company. I was enraged and felt terrible about the
decision before us. And the company's other leaders accompanied me on that
emotional journey. Being an effective leader does not require a lack of feeling. It
entails being capable of experiencing a range of emotions while remaining able
to make sound, logical business decisions.
3. Leaders must foster a sense of belonging in their followers by establishing a
safe environment.

manager cares about them. Personally, I feel that everyone finds fulfillment in

their profession only if they believe that those around them care about them first
and foremost as human beings. As a leader, it is thus your responsibility to foster
an environment in which employees feel a sense of belonging and understand
that the hours they spend contributing to the company's mission are worth more
than just a paycheck.

4. List down at least 5 ways to consider in improving your communication skills. 2-3
sentences are requested in each of your answer to support your claim.

1. Make an effort to listen actively. Effective communicators are perpetually

receptive listeners. Active listening entails responding affirmatively to what
others say and asking follow-up questions to demonstrate that you are paying
attention.
2. Put an emphasis on nonverbal communication. Developing an understanding
of nonverbal cues and signals can assist in preventing miscommunication and
signaling interest to those around you. When interacting with someone in a
professional context, pay close attention to your facial expressions and body
language. Your nonverbal clues have an impact on the first impression you
make. Maintaining eye contact, limiting hand motions, and maintaining proper
posture all contribute to a positive first impression when meeting someone for
the first time.
3. Self-control your emotions. It's critical to manage your emotions and
communicate them appropriately in context for the sake of good communication
and your own personal well-being. Allowing strong emotions to infiltrate a work
context inappropriately might result in poor communication and conflict.
4. Solicit feedback. There is no shame in seeking candid feedback from
colleagues regarding your communication skills. By seeking advice from
colleagues or subordinates on how to improve your communication skills, you
can gain a better understanding of how you come across in your work
environment. Develop an openness to alternative points of view and a desire to
improve connections with your coworkers.
5. Develop your public speaking skills. While public speaking may seem
intimidating, there is no better approach to develop strong communication skills
than to seek out opportunities to speak publicly. Great communicators are able
to express their emotions succinctly, whether they are speaking to a large
audience or one-on-one. Speaking in front of a group on a regular basis will
highlight your skills and limitations and will force you to establish strong
communication habits.

1. Technological advancements have made distant learning a more practical

alternative, as students can engage with one another and with the instructor,
learn through audio, video, and text, and conduct research via the internet. To be
a good distance learner, your student must have access to all necessary
technologies and the ability to navigate and use the tools effectively.

2. A certain amount of social pressure and regulation exists in a synchronous

learning setting. Students must arrive on time, with completed homework, and
are guided through their study, just as they would in an in-person classroom.
This means that students are held accountable to their teacher and classmates for
their contributions to the class's productivity. On the other hand, asynchronous
learning does not foster the same sense of accountability, as students work
individually through class content. While some students are self-disciplined and
have no difficulty with distance learning's independence, others may feel a little
disoriented. Establish a system and routine for doing classwork and studying to
assist you. Additionally, it is beneficial to teach your child executive functioning
skills such as organization, prioritization, and time management to assist them in
remaining organized. Executive functioning skills are critical for academic and
personal success, but they are not innate.

3. Because the teacher is physically absent during asynchronous learning

(independent learning), they may be unable to assist or help the student when
they are most in need. This means that the student may need to wait until the
next synchronous learning hour to receive assistance or may need to contact the
teacher via email or other forms of communication. Oftentimes, obtaining
assistance requires the student to formulate questions and request assistance; this
may be challenging for some students. Additionally, if a learner has
misconstrued a subject or is missing critical building blocks of knowledge, they
may be unaware that they have strayed off the path. Working one-on-one with a
tutor will guarantee your student receives the support they require and will assist
them in reestablishing any educational foundations lost as a result of distant
learning.
