1. There has been a policy abolishing the presence of homework in the Philippine Education curriculum due
to the additional load it imposes to students, sacrificing their quality time at home with the family. Does the
learner’s attitude toward homework affect their academic performance?

2. The Department of Education has added Mother Tongue in the subjects in the new K-12 Curriculum.
This study aims to assess the implementation of Mother Tongue Based-Multi Lingual Education as
perceived by teachers.

3. Performance-based subjects like Science, TLE and PE require adequate facility to be able to carry out
learning outcomes enumerated in the curriculum guide. In the science subject, does laboratory experiments
affect the academic performance of science learners?

II.
1. Strength: The research problem can be specified to a more targeted audience, like limiting the scope and
delimitation to homeworks in a particular subject of learners in a particular grade level as correlated to their
academic performance (grade) in a particular quarter.
Weakness: May become too narrow if other factors like demographic profile are not used in the correlation.

2. Strength: The future research can cross-examine the implementation of the MTB-MLE in the basic
education curriculum. This may seek to find positive effects and/or lapses in the implementation which is
beneficial not only to the respondents but to the education department as a whole.
Weakness: This type of research may require relatively long timeframe and large-scale sample size.

3. Strength: This is also another specific research which targets one problem at a time.
Weakness: there are factors to consider in selecting the respondents and locale of the study. In order for the
study to become relevant, the locale (school) must have adequate science experiments to make a valid
correlation between science experiments and the learner’s academic performance. Given that most public
schools lack a conducive science laboratory, this may become an issue to the researchers.

III
1. Descriptive Correlational: This type research is best suited to check the degree of correlation between
attitude towards homework and the learners’ academic performance.
2. Descriptive Case Study: this research design focuses on details in which phenomenon, like the
implementation of MTB-MLE, can be scrutinized.
3. Descriptive Correlation: This research design is applicable if the researchers wanted to measure the
degree of correlation between science laboratory experiments and the learners’ academic performance.
