Activity No. 2

Question: Research on how the following establishment delegate task on their events either on an
on-premise or off-premise set up. Write your recommendations or reactions.

Answers:
A Catering Establishment is a business premises that is available for hire for a particular event
and at which food and service is provided for people who attend the event. It is not an easy business
to manage but it is an exciting, fast paced business, and that is why it is growing with each passing
day. Nonetheless, it is also in demand because it help managing the events of every size. This
industry includes hotels, restaurants, schools, catering operations, and many other formats including
on –premises and off- premises. Auspiciously, it is crucial as a large part of any event revolved
around foods. There are various catering establishments that are categorized by the nature of the
demands they meet. These includes restaurants, transport catering, railway catering, airline catering,
ship catering, outdoor catering, club catering, industrial catering, institutional catering, and more.
Anyway, set up is the way in which an event is organized, planned, and arranged. Precisely, there are
two main types of catering such as on-premises and off-premises set up that may be a concern to a
large and small caterer. On-premise catering is differ from off-premise catering. When you say on-
premise catering refers to a food prepared and served in the same location to a group of people as
well as have already venue that you can offer to the clients. Whereas, off-premises catering is food
that prepared in a kitchen and transported to the location where it will be served to a group of people
as well as it is the one to go your client to give out their needs. Both on –premise and off-premise
catering have much in common and obviously transportation by vehicle is a main difference to these
two set up of catering. Succinctly, it is essential to have delegate task in a team wherein assign their
responsibility to be able to overcome the events prosperously. So, here are my reactions or
recommendations based on my research and understanding as well below:

“My Reactions and Recommendations”

Technically, as I have research about how establishment particularly the catering services
which delegate task on event either on-premise and off-premise is that there are many
establishments that necessary to delegate task either on-premise and off premise in order to run
smoothly and done properly. Delegate task is one of the most important tools that manager has,
regardless of the catering industry which he/she operates and manage whether on-premise and off-
premise. It is the process of entrusting authority and responsibility to others throughout the various
levels of the events. This method is extremely helpful for succession planning, personal development,
and encouraging promotion especially in holding an events. However, catering managers lead team
of chefs and catering assistants wherein they are responsible for running the day-to-day catering
operations and services in restaurants, hotels, and resorts. They are also responsible for guiding their
staff or team, and monitoring the quality of the food and service and for making sure that their outlets
perform well. From that, a good catering manager should have the right to steer the staff or team in a
way of professionalism, and give them their responsibility for what is best for them with instructions to
do so as to understand. Manager can assigned task to their staff that will fit their capabilities, skills,
and abilities they have and selecting the better position for them according to their experiences and
knowledge. For example, if that person has the skills in organizing an event decently like what to do,
the flow and of course if he/she have expert in making designs probably he/she put into the
decoration part. In addition, manager is also responsible to find out and inform his/her workers on
how the task should be fulfil. We always to remember that delegating task is when managers use
their authority to assign the responsibility to others in their workplace such as their greatest level
strategic planning the responsible for takes time and energy. Being a manager needs to delegate
tasks correctly to his/her employees for them to catch up easily. That’s why it is vital that every
manager will make sure that the objectives, goals, and plans are explicit mostly the person taking this
must do it well. But if that person is in the situation of difficulties he/she quickly go to the manager ask
for any problems and concerns to solve it, open suggestions or ideas, furnish guideline in terms of
time and amount to be spent during delegate task eventually it will finish duly. Constantly, a catering
manager must apply the delegate task anywhere they are because it can make an event easier to
manage and likely no circumstances will occur. Forsooth, not just the manager to be in delegate task
but also the employees or staff. The staff should do it with determination and perseverance. He/she
must be ready, and must have moral decisions along with grasping by that it will remain the
operations operating smoothly. Indeed, both manager and staff can help the catering services either
on-premise and off-premise will done successfully without hasslement. Actually, there is one catering
service that I admired the most how their services is doing well. The catering services that I refer
called The Stephthongel Catering Service execute on-premise and off-premise set up. In this
catering, they use creativity to serve their clients on what they want, they are known for providing
unusual service that you will not experience before, and most of all they have delicious foods together
affordable for everyone. Anyhow, this catering is distinct to other I have search for, they are unique,
and perform well the on-premise and off-premise set up in which they are so very active and well-
prepared as well. What I like this is that they serve excellent service, and delegation above their set
up on a specific event that makes me amazed so much. They supervise and plan rightly, I’m believe
with their customer service manner, they also set up on and off premise that makes them versatile,
and give delicate foods along with entertain their guests accurately. Hence, if I have a given a chance
to be their clients it was privileged, and will for me I will rate them 15/15. Furthermore, delegating
tasks to employees is not an easy responsibility as it requires though evaluation and careful selection.
In delegation, there are three elements to be remember such as authority, responsibility, and
accountability which are vital in catering both on-premise and off-premise. A good manager with the
staff can delegate tasks to get things done and the benefits for business and careers. Unfortunately,
people fail delegate effectively for the reason that they don’t have enough plan, without plan
delegation is almost impossible, and will cause you frustration. Fortunately, delegate tasks has many
advantages. Some of them are gives you the time to focus on higher level tasks, give others the
ability to learn, enhance new skills, develop trust, improves communication, minimizes the workload
of managers, provides background for development subordinates, improves efficiency, productivity
and time management. By this, it is nice to have every catering manager and it makes happy as well
that I learn another that will use in the future of mine. To make it short, in my realization that the
delegate task is much essential of either on-premise or off-premise set up in any caterings

As the head of the team, you must be aware of how delegating tasks affects the entire work
flow. With this, you must firstly establish clear plans to be done. A stable working team and availability
of resources that will be needed. Nevertheless, practice evaluating employees according to their
performances and give feedbacks with regards to the outcome. It is important to initiate in advance
your plan B if somehow failures or disruption occurs. It is a basic tool as an even organizer or as a
catering manager to be competent and well-prepared. Another thing is be accurate upon decision
making, lead your team well and project a pleasing personality towards staff. Be on time and
punctuality because it will help to have a great impression coming from the clients which showing
respect to them. Additionally, clear and effective communication is a key to an organized delegation
strategy. Before you start handling down tasks, clearly explain your expectations, outline goals, and
objectives of each assignment. By learning how to delegate responsibilities effectively, you can
improve your workplace or services in either on-premise or off-premise. To remind, how to delegate
tasks effectively? Simply by choose the right person for the job, provide the right instructions, be
specific, set expectation, keep promises and say thank you to them. The next one is that get to know
your team better, be open for comments or suggestions, and pick highly capable staffs to avoid less
hurdles and easy to get along with. Although, manager and employees already have knowledge and
experiences about catering in an event but still he/she needs to learn more. The managers and
employees should provide more training through letting them attend seminars, tips, and trade shows
about caterings techniques what necessities to do so as to discover and find new and unique ideas
for the best to do in managing an event especially in a situation of on-premise or off-premise set up.
They should have trained well for them to be ready to take the challenges and responsibilities with
bravery and confidence. Significantly, there are four steps to retain in mind having delegate task on
event in an on-premises or off-premises set up such like be prepared all the time, assign them
correctly or suitable, confirm understanding, and ensure accountability. Through these, delegate
tasks will be observed, and more accomplishable with great meeting goals. I have one thing to say
that the sooner you conquer it, the more prosperously you can overcome with challenges. These are
just some of the recommendations I could humbly give in order to manage delegate tasks efficiently
specifically in catering event either on-premise or off-premise set up and hopefully it will help.
Therefore, it will help the event become successfully, served the people, and most importantly reach
the customer satisfaction for them their events of their lives memorable. So, study well, focus, and
