Q1. What is communication ?

ANS;- The root of the word “communication” in Latin is communicare, which


means to share, or to make common Communication is simply the act of
transferring information from one place, person or group to another.

Q2. What is the process of communication?

ANS:- The process of communication refers to the transmission or passage of


information or message from the sender through a selected channel to the
receiver overcoming barriers that affect its pace.
The process of communication is a cyclic one as it begins with the sender and
ends with the sender in the form of feedback. It takes place upward, downward
and laterally throughout the organization.
Q3. What are the Barriers to communication?

ANS:- Communication barriers can include anything that prevents or disables


communicators to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time, or
a receiver to get the right message at the right time. 

There are 3 main categories of communication barriers that can make effective


communication challenging.

 Physical communication barriers such as social distancing, remote-work,


deskless nature of work, closed office doors, and others.  
 Emotional communication barriers resulting from emotions such as mistrust
and fear. 
 Language communication barriers that refer to how a person speaks both
verbally and nonverbally.

ANS:- SQ3R is a reading comprehension method named for its five steps: survey,
question, read, recite, and review. Follow the steps below to learn how to glean as
much information as possible from the text requirements from any class.

Q8. Define the difference between Resume, biodata and CV.

ANS :-  A resume will include details about where you’ve worked, the skills you have,
and your education. It’s usually only one page long and is intended as an overview of
your career. 

Biodata summarizes more, besides providing details of your personal life. On a biodata
sheet, you would include things like your gender, religion, mailing address and hobbies,
along with all your professional details. Biodata documents are a much more
comprehensive summary of you as a person and not just your career. They are typically
longer than a page. 

The CV presents a full history of your academic credentials, so the length of the
document is variable

ANS:- Tell me more about yourself. In so many words: Requesting more in depth
information about you or a brief outline of your background . Such as: Where does
your family come from ? Where were you born ? Where did you attend school ?
Have you done much traveling ?.

Introduce yourself” calls for less information. In response to it, many people only
give their name. WHen introducing oneself, people usually tell their name and
occupation followed by their permanent residence .EXAMPLE, Hello, my name is

ANS:- There are 2 main types of CV:

 a chronological (or traditional) CV, - This type of CV lists your details,


under appropriate headings, starting with the most recent. If you want to
use this format and have gaps in your work history, give an appropriate
reason for them
 a skills-based (or functional) CV.- This type of CV emphasises your skills
and personal qualities rather than your employment history.
 The Combined CV:- A combined CV follows both the chronological and
functional format, which makes the CV slightly longer than normal.
However, it does offer the best of both types of CV and is becoming a more
popular structure to use

ANS:- Precis writing is an exercise in compression. A precis is the gist of a


passage expressed in as few words as possible. A précis should give all essential
points so that anyone reading it will be able to understand the idea expressed in
the original passage.
