The Five Senses of Magic

The Five Senses of Magic is a tool to create spellcasting descriptions. Aside from the
usual effects, a spell may create anything from sparks, or tingles, or flowery smells, or
pops, or howls or hisses.

Some spellcaster’s styles are predictable, some are wild and chaotic, some styles
develop over time while some are rooted to their core. Therefore, some spellcasters
may find it only appropriate to use The Fives Senses of Magic Tool once, some may want
to use it for every spell, some maybe for every level of spells.

In order to predict the byproducts of the spells that you cast, answer the following
questions and roll a D20, D12, D10, D8, D6, & D4 and compare them to the charts on
proceeding pages.
Sight
This is the strange, extra visual happenings caused by your spellcasting. Roll a d20 and
combine the with phase of the moon under which your Adventurer was born.
Touch
What you feel while spellcasting either physically or mentally. Choose your Adventurer’s
dominate hand and roll a d10.
Taste & Smell
This is the taste & smell left in the air when you cast a spell spell. Choose the direction
of closest body of water from your place of birth, then roll a d4.
Sound
This is how your spellcasting sounds. Choose Moon(☽), Star(X) or Water(p), then roll a
d8 and d6 on the first table and then a d12 on the next and combine the results.
