INTRODUCTION
Based on our accumulated knowledge and experience in rubber expansio n joi nt desig n and ma nufacturing , we
would like to suggest our Integral Steel Flange Type Rubber Expansion Joints for GRP/FRP fla nge or pipe lines.
In consideration of specific conditions of GRP/FRP pipe lines, we have specia lly desig ned t he Integ ral steel fla nge
type rubber expansion joints, not to transmit thrust force loads to counter flange at all.
The integral steel flange type rubber expansion joint completely absorbs thrust f orce to be occurred f ro m
expansion joints during operation, so no thrust force is transmitted to coun ter flange.
By using the integral steel flange type design, counter flange is completely protect ed from such th ru st force, and
it absolutely guarantees safety, reliability and long lifecycle.

HINGE FOR ANGULAR RUBBER EXPANSION JOINTS
Hinge is designed to support the pressure thrust due to internal pressure, in special case can support also the
weight of piping/device.
Angular rubber expansion joints allow movements only on 1 plain; for a correct installa t io n must be designed at
series of 2/3 pieces.

WHY INTEGRAL STEEL FLANGE TYPE SHOULD BE USED ON GRP/FRP PIPE LINE
After installation, cracks can be occurred on GRP/FRP pipe line due to the t hrust f orce. Thrust force ca used by
tie-rods has affected onto the back-up ring [retainer ring] continuously and it l eads t he pipe line se r ious
damages.
By using the integral steel flange type design, thrust force caused by the tie-rods are not t ransmitted to counte r
flange. The integral steel flange type design completely absorbs the t hrust force to be occurred duri ng
operation, so no thrust force is transmitted to counter flange.
FEA [FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS] on tie rods with integral steel flange can be done at the request of custome rs.
