I. You are the HR Manager of University of San Luciano, a university in Baguio City. You are aware that
Green HRM is a relatively new concept in many Philippine organizations and you feel the need to introduce
some new practices in human resource management, with these HRM practices being geared toward
enhancing your University’s economic and environmental sustainability. In other words, Green HRM
practices that promote pro-environmental sustainability for your university.
You need to make a concept paper or a COMPELLING proposal to the Board of Trustees and Top
Management, which must be evidenced-based so as to ensure a management ‘buy-in’ of your proposals.
The following resource materials are available for you and may be used to build your proposal (refer to the
attachments for the copy of the full article).
TASKS. Prepare an HRM STRATEGY for your HR Department and develop the concrete HRM PLANS
(policies, procedures, etc.) for EACH of the following HRM systems:
II. Based on the journal article entitled “Proposing and Evaluating a Model for Ethical Recruitment and
Selection” presented in class on the topic of ethical considerations:
2.1. Make a critical evaluation of the merits and value of this article as a scientific publication; the journal
critique may be positive, negative or a combination of the two. The evaluation must be limited to
500 words. (20 pts)

2.2. In reference to the proposed model (Figure 2) that incorporated ethics in recruitment and selection
in the article, develop one policy statement that may serve as guide in the ethical implementation
of the following areas:
2.2.a. Phase 1: ethical policy statement for consideration of initial applications (10 pts.)
2.2.b. Phase 2: ethical policy statement for screening applicants (10 pts.)
2.2.c. Phase 3: ethical policy statement for making an offer to successful applicant (10 pts.)
