Chapter 1

The Problem and its Background

Introduction

Do you ever heard about the “Internet Speed”? How does the

internet speed helps in our daily lives? And do you know what Internet Service

Providers (ISP) you can trust the most when it comes to your internet connection?

These are some of the questions that customers have in their minds, especially when

they’re going to inquire for their internet connection at home.

Our study can answer questions about why our internet connection

was so slow. That is the most common issue we know about our internet connection.

Especially our generation today was so dependent in internet. Almost half of their day

was spent in internet, like browsing in social media, playing online games, connecting to

their love ones, searching for their assignments or for their work, etc. Sometimes some

of them blaming the Telecommunication Companies for having a slow internet

connection due to that they’re having a trouble to do such things like watching videos or

listening to music, downloading apps or soft wares and so on. As you can see internet

connection is important to us. Do you ever think of living without internet connection

because of the slow internet speed? That’s why we come up in this kind of study

because we need to know what is the root or cause of this problem or issue to us.
2

Statement of the Problem

This study entitled Slow Internet connection in the Philippines according to CCIS

juniors and sophomores in School Year 2015-2016 at PUP Sta. Mesa, Manila aims to

find out why do the Philippines have a slow internet connection?

Specifically, this research also aims to solve the following set of sub-problems:

1. What is Internet Speed?

2. What are the TOP 3 Telecommunication Companies that offer internet

connection?

3. What services do the telecomm companies offer?

4. Which of the services are poor to the respondents?

5. What caused the internet connection to be slow?

Importance of the Study

This study is about the issue of slow internet connection in our country. And we

also know that the internet is very useful to us. Almost all our duties or our daily

routines, internet makes it faster than the usual.

It has many benefits to us, which can prove the importance of internet

connection; benefits like to the parents they would be able to know what causes an

expensive charges and inefficient internet service and would help them to wisely choose
3

a better internet provider. Next to the businessmen with a faster internet speed, they

would be able to make earnings with proper communication setting with customer

satisfaction, so that they should know how they will upgrade their internet connection.

Then in social media, they can spread news and announcements easily and such things

like about some celebrity, helping a country that facing a calamity, spreading a warning

etc. To the gamers they will be so much enjoyed playing online games without loading

or buffering for minutes. And to the government they will be benefited by this study in a

way that they will be informed about the problem of our country facing nowadays

regarding the slow internet connection and the issues about the ISP (Internet Service

Provider). Lastly, the internet providers itself, To let them know their rights, legal matter

supports the subscribers, the insights of some subscribers regarding the problem and

the point of view of their customers to let them know their rights, legal matter supports

the subscribers, the insights of some subscribers regarding the problem and the point of

view of their customers.

Scope and Limitations

Our study about Internet speed in the Philippines includes or discusses the

following topics:

Slow internet connection in the Philippines, telecommunication companies,

Internet Service Providers (ISP), postpaid and prepaid internet and mobile services,
4

Price of internet connection, Internet speed, Low concerning internet connection,

Comparison of internet speed and price in Asia or Worldwide.

On the other hand, our study will not include the following topics:

Telecommunication networks in other nation, File sharing, Hotspot and Bluetooth

connection, Virtual private network, Cable television connection and comparison of

mobile services of other nation.

Definition of Terms

Bandwidth = This is a range within a band of wavelengths, frequencies which is

occupied by modulated carrier wave, which is assigned to a service or over a device.

Gbps = This means Gigabits per second; this is used to measure internet speeds.

ISP = This means Internet Service Provider, This refers to a company that provides

Internet services, including personal and business access to the Internet.

kbps / kBps = This means kilobits per second / kilobytes per second it is used to

measure internet speeds for slow internet connection or the lowest speed of internet

connection.

LAN = This is a local area network (LAN) is a group of computers and associated

devices that share a common communications line or wireless link to a server. Typically,

a LAN encompasses computers and peripherals connected to a server within a small

geographic area such as an office building or home. Computers and other mobile

devices can share resources such as a printer or network storage.

5

Mbps / MBps = This means Megabits per second / Megabytes per second it is used to

measure internet speeds for moderate internet connection.

Modem = This is a medium that uses as a server for an internet connection.

NTC = The Philippines’ National Telecommunication Commission

(Filipino: Pambansáng Komisyón sa Telekomunikasyón), abbreviated as NTC, is an

attached agency of the Office of the President of the Philippines responsible for the

supervision, adjudication and control over all telecommunications services throughout

the country.

Ping = It is the bounce back of the internet speed while using a specific game, program

or application.

WAN = This is a wide area network (WAN) is a telecommunications

network or computer network that extends over a large geographical distance. Wide

area networks are often established with leased telecommunication circuits.

WLAN = A wireless LAN (or WLAN, for wireless local area network, sometimes referred

to as LAWN, for local area wireless network) is one in which a mobile user can connect

to a local area network (LAN) through a wireless (radio) connection. It is also the same

as Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi = Wireless Fidelity; Wireless internet connection from modem to mobile units such

as smartphones, tablet & PC.

Review of Related Literature

This chapter includes readings which are related to the topic that is being

researched. These readings support and strengthen of the ideas of the researchers.

Local Books

“The Philippines has the slowest average internet connection in Asia Pacific”.

According to the ABS-CBN News. In their conclusion on internet speeds in the

Philippines according to Akamai (2015) (Akamai p.4). The average internet speeds are

at 2.5 Mbps, which is far behind from the average internet speeds in the ASEAN and

Asia Pacific. On the other hand according to Akamai (2015), the Philippines shows

strong increase in the average internet speeds yearly, but the problem is that the

Philippines has only about less than 25 000 unique IP addresses or internet servers

which makes the Philippines place a one of the slowest internet speeds in ASEAN and

Asia Pacific.

“Do we always have to pay a steep price for slow and sometimes unreliable

Internet connection?”, according to Macaraig (2014) (Macaraig p.4). Nowadays, we use

internet as means of communication instead of using text message and phone calls, but

did we notice that we pay more than call and text offers, and also we experienced

unreliable internet service? According to the article of Macaraig (2014), Sen. Paolo

Benigno “BAM” Aquino IV called the senate to investigate the slow and expensive
7

internet connection in the Philippines of the Telecomm. Companies. He shows some

reports the Philippines is way behind from other ASEAN countries in terms of average

internet speed. He added that he want to focus on the effect of slow internet on

business because he want the Philippines not to be far behind from the ASEAN

community in terms of business and production. He also cited that the citizens are not

happy with the internet speeds than the other ASEAN countries.

“I already have WIFI and 36, but my Internet connection is still slow. Are the two

companies just slow? What is that?! (translated)”, said Senator Lauren Legarda in front

of the senate, exposing the alleged slow internet connection experience by many

netizens in a country known as the social media capital of the world according to

Macaraig (2015). Two of the biggest telecommunication companies, Globe and Smart

face the senate committee regarding the controversy this last 28th of May 2014. Sen.

Legarda led the senate by asking for a clarification which can be understand by many.

“Congestion”, the primary reason state by Smart Communication Head Ramon Isberto

as a defense for the accusation. He added that to solve the problem, telcos have to

invest in their networks by building more cell sites but this would entail huge capital

expenditure. National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) headed by Commissioner

Gamaliel Cordoba proposed making internet a “basic service” instead of a “valve added

service”. Senate Trade Committee Senator Paulo Benigno “BAM” Aquino IV amends

the public service act of 1936 as he agreed with the NTC’s proposal on making internet

as a basic service. Sen. Bam Aquino was on his sight now on updating the 1936 Law

for Internet Connection by using amendments to promote a better access and more
8

affordable internet in the Philippines. Senate Ralph Recto on the other hand, passed his

own proposal to regulate internet speed. His bill requires the Telecommunication

companies to meet the minimum internet speed of 10 megabits per second (Mbps) for

mobile / internet access, and 20 Mbps for fixed and wireless broadband / Internet

access at home. Sen. Recto added that the transition to a faster internet speed would

be two years after the enactment of the law (Macaraig p.1). The reports also show that

the Philippines has one of the most expensive internet connection according to Ookla

Net Index (Macaraig p.2).

Foreign Books

What country has the fastest internet speed? Globally, internet speeds grew 10

percent from 2013 at an average of 3.6 Mbps by Soper (2014). However, global peak

connection speed dropped by 52% to 17.9 Mbps. South Korea had the fastest average

connection speed at blistering 22.1 Mbps making a huge 66% increase from 2013

(soper 1). But to a recent survey from software company Ookla, the fastest internet

speed is in the US is 85.5 Mbps according to Bautista’s (2015) research; it was in a tiny

town called Ephrata in Washington State. So it was a strong proof that every year the

internet speed is always upgrading and upgrading (Bautista 2).

“To means giving all Americans Households access to world-class broadband

and creating connected ‘smart cities’ with infrastructure that’s part of tomorrow’s internet

of things”, Clinton’s plan says according to Lelinwallas’s (2015) article(Lelinwalla 4).

9

Hillary Clinton face the American citizens regarding her plans if she would make her

way winning this coming 2016 election. “High-speed Internet access is not a luxury; it is

a necessity for equal opportunity and social mobility in a 21st century

economy”(Lelinwalla 4) this statements sums up Clinton’s blueprint for 2016. Alloting

$275 billion for the whole blueprints infrastructure. Clinton also highlighted that huge

percentage of the fund was reserved for the enormous steps of upgrading the

technology and animating the planned technology breakout. Promising to provide 100%

of American households to a sufficient internet speed by 2020.

Local Studies

The May 2015 survey of Ookla speedtest, a global applications, revealed that

Philippines has one of the slowest average broadband speeds across the globe,

according to research of Braga (2015). The provincial board also requested the National

Telecommunications Commission to formulate standard parameters and there holds

regarding internet speeds to address the slow internet connection in the country. The

legislative body noted that there have been “countless” complaints from all sections

regarding the Philippines snail-paced internet speed “such has been a source of daily

transactions to each Filipino who is merely trying to make a quick online transaction or

sending an important message via e-mail and other modern necessities.” (Braga p.2).

The country was ranked as 176 th out of 202 countries in terms of upload speed with

1.53 mbps, which is significant lower than the global average of 10.59 mbps.
10

“Right now, it (internet connection service) should consider a value added for its

service. It should be subjected to contractual obligations, meaning if you pay this much,

you will be given this much speed.” According to Gamaliel Cordoba of NTC (2014).

During a senate hearing a bill has been filed to require telecommunications companies

to provide faster internet in the country, for Filipino citizens suffer from fast internet

connection incapability. They were not getting the desired and promised internet

services, though paying expensively for it. Many ISP’s and Telecommunications

companies failed to provide their minimum internet connection speed. Studying the US-

based internet platform Akamai Technologies, the Philippines had average peak

Internet connection speed of 3.64 mbps by the end of 2013, which shows that Filipino

internet user’s still experiencing slow internet connection speeds due to low use of

cables, wires, and technology. In 2013, an info graphic posted online showing that

Philippines lags behind its other Asian neighboring countries that pays expensively for

internet service, who do we still suffer from poor internet speed? And why do our

neighboring countries that had the same cost of bills were being provided with fast and

better connection like Singapore with an average speed compared to Philippines was

Afghanistan with 2.52 mbps. So the senate filed a bill pursuing the ISP’s and

telecommunications company to upgrade their wirings, cables, tower, technical, and

technology to provide a sufficient amount of data flow giving faster internet connection.

Soon, Filipino citizens will be experiencing the kind of speed by how much pay for it.

“Internet metrics provider Ookla found that the Philippines averaged a speed of

just 3.64 megabits per second (mbps), which ranked 176 th out of 202 countries
11

worldwide.” (GMA News (2015)). Out of 22 Asian countries, the Philippines holds the

second place for having slow internet connection, next to Afghanistan. It is among the

perspective of Filipino’s having internet speed of that kind is below the expectation. In a

typical household download index, the Philippines is nearly eight times slower than the

worlds average download speed, which is 23.3 mbps. Despite of this connection, our

country also has some of the most expensive Internet fees in the world. Which is the

issue from the past few years. The study showed that Filipinos who are using Internet

spend $18.19 per mbps, compared to an average rate of $5.21 mbps worldwide. (GMA

NEWS 1). In 2014, the senate opened up a probe to look into the quality of Internet

services in the Philippines. (GMA News p.2).

“Mediocre Internet speed is a problem that disproportionately affects the poor

and the middle class”, according to Lasco (2015). In our present generation, we are

actually living in a high tech way or in the generation of computers. Having internet

connection is an advantage because it is very useful in communicating, updating the

news and being “in” with the newest and trending technologies. But in the other hand,

we are aware that the Philippines really have this mediocre internet speed. Sometimes,

viewing some documents take years to load; downloading apps and videos take couple

of hours; and communicating with your relatives seeing their pixelated faces on the

monitor. This scenarios will really make everyone’s face to frown. Internet connection is

really useful in today’s generation. Explaining that having this turtle speed internet will

really affect everybody.

12

Foreign Studies

A lot of people have tested their internet speed, and they see internet speed

numbers like 500 Kbps or 2 Mbps or sometimes even higher numbers based on

McDowell’s (2009) research (McDowell p.1). There are times that we’re questioning our

internet speed, especially if we try to watch a streaming video on you tube and it stutters

or stop for a second or the other troubles like if you’re browsing in social media or

playing online games and it loads like it takes forever! More often than not, an average

computer use will blame the internet connection speed, and the users will have

questions and doubts in their minds (McDowell p.1). Well, your internet speed test only

tells you part of the picture. What a speed test only measures is how long a certain

amount of data takes to travel to the test server and back to your computer. Based on

the size of the file, the time from which it leaves their server to get to your computer, the

test calculates your download speed. The size of the file and the time it takes to leave

your computer and get to their server determines your upload speed.

Go to the Philippines and experience for yourself the sort of lousy service you get

from the incumbent operators and you will see that the opportunity there for a new

operator to provide a much better quality service according to Telstra CEO Andrew

Penn (2015)(Penn p.5). “We need Telstra”. That’s what I always hear and read in the

social media from the teenagers when the news spread about the plan of this Australian

Company to provide quality service of internet in the Philippines. In our population of

more than 100M, only 40% of it have access in the internet. It’s because the service of

local telcos is expensive that the other people cannot afford to pay. But even if the
13

service is expensive, it’s sad to say that it is not reliable nor fast. Knowing that Telstra is

coming to our country, people are hoping that we can have fast, reliable internet and

affordable at the same time.

Chapter 3

Research Methodology

Research Design

The descriptive method, particularly the survey, was used to achieve the

objectives of this study. This method seeks to describe a present existing condition,

which in this study were the visions or the opinions of the students of College of

Computer Sciences (CCIS) except the seniors or the 4 th year students about the

benefits that they get from different telecommunication company and also about the

Internet Connection in our country.

Respondents

The total population of the conducted survey is 75 students of CCIS except for

the seniors. This population is quite small, because we can’t handle almost all of the

section per year for our different schedules; hence, the researchers opted to involve all

75 students in CCIS in the research as respondents.

15

Research Instrument

The structured-survey wherein the researchers prepared a survey questions

based on the subproblem on their study in a predetermined order, was used. The

survey questions were tried out first on a group of freshmen for improvement and they

were included as our respondents.

Data – Gathering Procedure

The data were drawn from 75 students of the College of Computer and

Information Sciences of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines who were surveyed

by the researchers. The researchers set the date and time to gather students and make

them answered their survey sheets but the students was not being forced or required to

answer the survey sheet, if they don’t want to answer too. Researchers went room by

room to gather the freshmen, sophomores and juniors that available in that time.

Statistical Treatment

Individual responses were being tallied before they were put in tables ready for

the statistical treatment. Percentage was utilized to quantify the data gathered for

subproblems 1 to 5, where the subproblems have a five question each.

P = f/N x 100

Where: P = Percentage f = Frequency N = Total number of respondent

16

Chapter 4

Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data Gathered

This chapter presents the data gathered regarding the leisure activities of the

freshmen, sophomores and juniors of College of Computer and Information Sciences

(CCIS) and their prescription about the benefits that they get, the services they received

from telecom companies’ and about internet speed connection in our country.

Table 1, it is shown that all of the respondents have a Wi-Fi connection at Home.

Therefore the answer for question 1.1 is “yes” because all of the respondents have an

internet connection at home.

Table 2 Definite Speed of Internet

In Table 2 the definite speed of internet among the choices is “fast”, it was in rank

one with a total of 57%, next is “slow” with 34%, third is “very slow” which is 8% and the

last one is “very fast” with 1%.

So therefore, many of the respondents have a fast internet connection because

almost half of the respondents have a fast internet connection. The answer for question

1.2 is “fast”, even though some of them or ¼ of the respondents has a slow internet

connection.

As for Table 3 in the 1st rank was “Yes, it is more efficient and reliable because I

can do such thing/s without wasting time for loading and buffering.” with a total of 97%,

next is “No, because if I have a fast connection I can’t finish my household chores and

my school papers.” with 2% and last is “Other answer” with 1%. Majority of respondents

choose to have a fast internet connection.

So therefore, the answer in question 1.3 is “Yes, it is more efficient and reliable

because I can do such thing/s without wasting time for loading and buffering.” Many in

our respondents want to have a fast internet connection because they enjoyed being to

do many things while using Wi-Fi or internet connection.

As you can see in Table 4, in rank 1 st is of course “Yes” with 94% and next is

“No” with total average of 4%.

Therefore, the answer in question 1.4 is “Yes” because almost of our

respondents has the knowledge about internet speed but at the same time, there are

people who doesn’t know about the internet speed even though their using often the

internet or Wi-Fi.

Based on table 5 in the 1 st rank is “It is measured in Megabits/bytes,

Gigabits/bytes, Kilobits/bytes (Mbps, Gbps, Kbps) the higher the number you have, the

speedier your online activity should be.” with a total of 83%. Then in the 2 nd rank was

“Internet speed is a bandwidth” with a 10%, and last is “Speed of your internet”, with 3%

over all.

So therefore the answer in question 1.5 is “It is measured in Megabits/bytes,

Gigabits/bytes, Kilobits/bytes (Mbps, Gbps, Kbps) the higher the number you have, the

speedier your online activity should be”, because almost all of our respondents choose

or believe that it was the meaning of internet speed.

On Table 6, many of our respondents choose PLDT so it make it to the 1 st rank

with 50%, followed by Globe with 29%, then Smart with 11%, next is SKY with 7% and

the last is Wi-Tribe with 1%. We know that, that is not the only telecomm companies

here in the Philippines but the researchers picked those five for being the famous

telecomm companies as their choices to subproblem 2.

20

Therefore, for being in the 1st rank for table 6 is PLDT, respondents choose PLDT

for the telecomm that they should trust in terms of browsing in social media. So

practically speaking the answer in question 2.1 is PLDT with the total average of 50% or

half of the population of our respondents.

So at the table 7, PLDT is still the rank 1 with 56%, followed by Globe with 24%,

next is SKY with 11%, and then is Wi-Tribe with 5% and the last is Smart with 2%.

PLDT is still the best telecomm company in terms of playing online games.

Therefore the answer in question 2.2 is also PLDT. Half of our respondents

answered or choose the PLDT. And PLDT is the biggest Telecommunication Company

in our country so maybe that’s the reason for PLDT is always in 1 st rank.

And for table 8, for the third time PLDT get the 1 st rank again with 45% which is

almost half of our respondents again, it was followed by Globe with 20%, then Smart

with 18%, next is SKY with 13% and the last for the third time is Wi-Tribe with 5%.

Therefore the answer for the question 2.3 is PLDT which has 45%, this is like a

hint to us for which telecomm company will be the number one.

Based on the Table 10 we are about to rate the following Telecomm Companies

for us to know what is the TOP 3 telecommunication companies among the five

companies that had been chosen by the researchers. So for the TOP 5 or the last is Wi-

Tribe with the average of 78% then next is SKY with the total percentage of 35% the

TOP 3 is Globe with the average percentage of 24% and then the TOP 2 is Smart with

28% overall and of course the TOP 1 PLDT with the overall average of 54%. Before the
23

question 2.5, the tallies from 2.1 to 2.4, PLDT is always the rank 1 based on the

answers of the respondents.

So therefore, PLDT as the TOP 1, the TOP 2 is Smart then the TOP 3 is Globe.

So all in all, among the five telecomm companies these three is more famous and

influential than the other telecomm companies, especially the PLDT because the whole

subproblem 2, PLDT is always the number one.

On the question 5.7, the top three reasons that internet connection makes to

disconnect or to slow are the following: The Location from the source, Weather and

Peak number of users. For the male freshmen their top 3 reasons are: Location from the

source, peak number of users and the weather. While for the Female Freshmen, the top

3 reasons are the following: Their location from the source, peak number of users and

the weather. In Male sophomores their top 3 reasons was become 2, for the choices

Less Telecomm companies, Limited internet time and weather was had a triple tie for

top 2 and the choices Location from the source and peak number of users was tie for

top 1. As for female sophomores their top 3 reasons are: peak number of users and

weather was tie for top 1, for top 2 is Location from the source while in top 3 less

telecomm companies and limited internet time and it was tie again. For male juniors the

top 3 are: Location from the source and peak number for top 1 and for top 2 is limited

internet time and the weather and lastly is the less telecomm companies. And for the

female juniors their top 3 reasons are the following: weather; next is Location from the

source and then the Peak number of users.

37

So therefore the top 3 reason that makes the internet connection to disconnect or

to be slow that should be resolved are the user’s location from the source, Peak number

of users and the weather.

Chapter 5

Summary of Findings, Conclusions, Recommendation

The purpose of this study is to find out the why our internet is so slow, and what

are the visions, opinions, and benefits that the College of Computer and Information

Sciences students except for the seniors about the internet connection in our country.
38

To come up with this aim, the descriptive survey method was used to determine the

cause for our internet connection to be slow based on the responses of the students.

Specially, the study aims to know the reason and the opinions of them about the

internet connection in our country.

Summary of Findings

The study was purported to know what is the main reason for our internet

connection to be slow based on the answers of our respondents which is the students of

College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS) except for the seniors in

Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Sta. Mesa Manila.

We all know, that the internet connection has a big part in our daily routines; it is

like a water to us, like we can’t live without it. Especially on our generation internet

connection is very useful to us in many aspects. Internet makes our routines to be fast

and easy. So what do you think of living without having internet connection or slow

connection? That’s why our study is all about internet connection, researchers want to

know what is the opinion of the others teenager like us about our internet connection,

what are the benefits that they get from the ISP or telecomm companies despite of

having a slow internet connection.

Based on the analysis and interpretation of the data gathered, the researchers

arrived at the following findings:

1. All of our respondents has an internet connection at home, but some of them has

a slow internet connection the others has a fast connection. The respondents
39

said that it is more useful to have a fast connection. And all of our respondents

has an idea about what is internet speed, they are aware about the speed of their

connection.

2. When it comes to the telecomm companies, respondents chose PLDT among the

choices, so it means that PLDT is the most famous and have more customers

because almost all of our respondents choose it.

3. Respondents used the internet for education purposes. Unli internet is the most

effective service of the ISP for them, and the most useful service to them is for

researching, it helps them to gather more information and knowledge, but despite

of being a student, they think that the internet is useful to all citizens in our

country.

4. Respondents also encountered trouble while they’re using the services of the

ISP. They experience problem while they are surfing or browsing in social media.

It means the ISP that they are using has a problem in signal, but they said that

the staffs of the company solve it always.

5. Respondents also experiencing internet connection loss, they said they

experience it weekly, they also agreed that the government shall add more ISP in

the country. They preferred the sunny weather when they are going to connect to

the internet; the best place to connect to the internet is near the window based

on their answers to our survey sheets. They also come up that maybe their

location from the source of internet, the peak number of user and the weather is

the Top 3 reason why their connection is loss.

40

Conclusions

Based on the following findings, the researchers have drawn the following

conclusions.

1. Because of the big use of internet connection at home, all of our respondents

have an internet connection at home. Maybe they’re using it for communication,

entertainment, researches and such things, because internet is very useful

especially at home.

2. Respondents choose PLDT among the others; maybe because it was the most

common ISP that we heard every day, it was the biggest and famous company

that we all know.

3. Since our respondents are all students, they used the internet for education

purposes, like researching, downloading and such. And because of their

smartphones unli internet is the most effective service to them, maybe because

even at school they need to connect to the internet for something.

4. Maybe because they always have chitchat to their friends or relatives through

social media, they experienced having a trouble in their internet connection while

they are surfing or browsing in social media. Maybe because it was the easiest

and fastest way to connect to others.

5. Respondents has internet connection loss, because 10-15 above was the user or

connected to their modem or broadband, maybe their neighbors has internet

41

connection at home and their signal was having a conflict. Or some of our

respondents were living in the province and the signal was poor.

Recommendations

After drawing conclusions, the researchers offered the following

recommendation for implementation and for further study in the future:

1. Since our respondents have an internet connection at home, we offer that each

and one of them must have their own internet connection through themselves

that can bring inside and out of their house.

2. We recommend that PLDT was so much ahead than other ISP based on our

survey, we offer that the other telecomm company need to be more open or more

advertised so that all of the citizen in our country will know and notice them.

3. The telecomm company must improve their signals for that the students or the

people who will use their service unli internet will be having a good and fast

connection.

4. Respondents must have another way to connect or to reach their friends,

relatives etc. for them not to experience any troubles when they are

communicating or reaching onto others.

5. A more powerful modem, that even there are many of users; the speed will not

get affected nor the signals of the users. And wherever it is or what weather they

are having the speed must not get affected.
