Case Study
In each case study, you will observe that the person’s behavior is generally healthy, but there
are certain areas need areas that need to improvement or change. Make two lists, one under
“Healthy Behavior” and other under “Unhealthy Behavior”. Then suggest one person can
improve his or her behavior. What are the factors they can control to improve their health?
1. Monica is thirteen years old and very active. She plays volleyball, goes swimming twice
a week, and runs for the school athletics team. Because Monica is so busy, she has trouble
finding time to do her homework and sometimes she copies assignments from a friend.
Monica doesn’t east well. She often skips breakfast, has snacks such a chips and soft drink
for lunch, and loads up with sweets for quick energy.
2. Warren is very particular about completing his tasks. He doesn’t have to be reminded
about his house chores, and he always gets his homework done on time. Warren has many
friends and mixes well with people. He is very nervous, however, when it comes to class
participation or exams. He has started to smoke lately because he thinks it will calm his
nerves and make him less tense. Warren does physical education at school, but at home he
watches TV or plays computer games.
3. Hanna is very organized and plans a head of time to do things that important.
Sometimes, when things don’t work out exactly says hurtful things to them. Hanna is not
upset for long, and usually apologizes if she is not right. Very often she has to be
reminded to up the seat belt in the car or to lock up the house when she leaves for school.
