Convention Centers Around the World

1) Vancouver Convention Center
The Vancouver Convention Centre (formerly known as the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre,
or VCEC) is a convention centre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; it is one of Canada's largest
convention centres. With the opening of the new West Building in 2009, it now has 43,340 square metres
(466,500 sq ft) of meeting space. It is owned by the British Columbia Pavilion Corporation, a crown
corporation owned by the government of British Columbia.

2) Milano Convention Center

It is dubbed as Europe’s largest congress center. Launched in 2002 and doubled in size in 2005, the
current extension (2011) places MiCo - Milano Convention Centre among the largest conference facilities in
Europe and worldwide. Designed by Mario Bellini, it's able to accommodate up to 18,000 people in 70 or so
fully appointed conference rooms with permanent control booth.

Featuring two plenary rooms, one with seating for 4,000 and the other for 2,000 and an Auditorium
that seats 1,500, it is the ideal venue for large-scale performances and for international conferences requiring a
large number of rooms. In the same way, the exhibition halls offer 54,000 sq.m of exhibition space and can also
be set up as extra plenary rooms accommodating more than 5,000 people.

The conference rooms feature the full range of technologies: video projector, sound system,
translator booths, fixed video cameras, closed circuit TV, Wi-Fi internet access and optical fiber cables.

All of this in downtown Milan, with a parking lot for more than 1,100 cars, a heliport and direct
access to Milan’s future subway line 5.

3) Gran Via

It is one of the largest and most modern venues in Europe, designed by the Japanese architect Toyo
Ito, winner of the Pritzker prize. Its outstanding features are its architecture, functionality and commitment to
sustainability: it has one of the largest rooftop photovoltaic installations. Its eight pavilions, connected by a
walkway that channels the flow of visitors, provide cutting-edge services and logistics. The gastronomic
restaurant Nuclo is located inside the Foyer Europe. It is located in a new business development area, very close
to Barcelona airport and connected to the public transport network.
