(Content)

Introduction: Today the class will be discussing their use of technology. First they’ll answer
questions about the kind of technologies they use, how long they use them for and
how they feel about walking away from their technologies. Then they will watch a
YouTube video that teaches them three steps about transitioning from online activities
to offline in person activities. Next students will sit and listen to a read aloud of my
book. Finally, the students will participate in two group experiences. One being a
small group activity followed by a large group activity.

Activities:
- Small Group Discussion:
1. Students will be split into groups 1, 2, and 3.
2. Each group will be assigned to one of the three table stations that
are labeled outside, home, and school.
3. Once they are seated at their assigned tables, they will write their
group numbers at the top of the chart paper and students are to
collaborate with one another and write down two examples of
activities they can do in each setting to replace technology use.
They will be using markers and big chart paper.
4. Each group will have about 5-10 minutes to come up with and
write down their examples. Then they will rotate to the next
station together.
5. Once they are done, they will hang up all three chart papers on the
board and discuss their findings.

- Group Art Experience:

1. In their same assigned groups students will pick a table to sit at
where there will be a stack of magazines and scissors.
2. Students will go through the magazines and cut out images of
people doing activities that can replace technology use.
3. Each group will have about 15-20 minutes to find and cut their
images out.
4. Then they will place their images in a zip loc bag that they will
bring to the center carpet in order to create a group photo collage.
5. Students will clean up all of their scraps and place the magazines
back in a pile on the table and sit down on the center carpet.
6. The teacher will call on students two at a time and have them tape
their images to the poster board. Teacher will administer pieces of
