NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF COMPUTER AND EMERGING SCIENCES, LAHORE DISASTER RESPONSE GUINEA At the north western tip of Papua New Guinea, resides a coastal area Aitape. In the late 20th century, the coastal land was hit by an earthquake which triggered the ocean. A disastrous tsunami hit the coastline after producing a bombarding sound. As a result of which, the area was engulfed by the ocean waves. Moreover, it was deduced that there were no databases available for the past events. The investigations were carried out from the people who were the lucky survivors of the event. The assistance of scientific teams from other countries including Japan was called and their tsunami patterns were studied carefully. The people, who were at first adamant to consider this as a natural disaster; gradually realized the delicacy of situation and were trained for future events. Evacuation and In this situation, early evacuation needs to be done near the coast line. Mitigation Volunteers need to be called to carry out these evacuation activities. Emergency transportation system needs to be planned which would help in evacuation of the targeted area. Search and Those who are injured and those who are stuck in tsunami need to be Rescue rescued first to eliminate the risk of further causalities. The research work prior to tsunami has to be done and the patterns are Post Disaster to be studied. A database for the prone areas have to be generated. The Management elderly individuals of the society need to be trained by the governing bodies so that society can take its responsibility in case of calamity. Those individuals, who lost their belongings and loved ones and those Response and who were traumatized by the situation needs to be consoled so they Cooping could live a normal life in the future.
